History[edit]

Mario Kart series[edit]

In the Mario Kart series, snakes can be found in Shy Guy Bazaar in Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Kart World. In the race course, snakes hide in snake jars, causing them to move around unlike normal jars. If a racer or an item collides with a snake jar, it releases several small, green snakes as an aesthetic effect. These snakes make squawking noises while bearing a smiling expression when they leave their jars. However, in Mario Kart World, only one green snake springs out the jar. In this game, they are slightly bigger from previous entries, and are redesigned, taking elements from both Cobrat, Hisstocrat, and/or his snake minions. Specifically, they have yellow sclera, squinting pupils, darker-rimmed eyes and a rounder snout.

Luigi's Mansion 3[edit]

Snakes, specifically king cobras, appear as a type of pest in Luigi's Mansion 3. They appear in sandy areas in the Tomb Suites, on the Beach in the Spectral Catch, in some pots in the Mushroom Suite and in the Elevator Hall in the Garden Suites, in the Dance Hall under a table, and a portion of the Master Suite. Snakes will occasionally pop out of and burrow into the sand. Snakes attack by lunging in Luigi's direction, inflicting 10 HP of damage if they hit him, but a snake can be defeated either from being flashed by the Strobulb or, if it is stuck in the sand, being vacuumed into the Poltergust G-00. Gems also take the shape of snakes in the Tomb Suites.
