Vertigo Verge is the fourteenth level in Donkey Kong Land III and the second level of Blackforest Plateau, where it is on the northwest part of the map. It is the first cliff level of the game.

This level takes place in a low mountain range, where Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong must thread their way through a labyrinth of cliffs and rocky ledges. The weather is rainy and rather gloomy, and since the stormy clouds are occulting the sun, the whole level is dark, making small enemies such as Sneeks harder to see. To cross the numerous gaps and chasms, the Kongs have to cling to vertical and horizontal ropes. However, Klasps and Buzzes try to knock them off, which is reminiscent of both Kreeping Klasps and Ropey Rumpus from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, the game's SNES counterpart. Many Kobbles, Knockas and Krumples attack the Kongs throughout the level as well, thus the player should try to keep Kiddy Kong in order to defeat these tough opponents.

Unless they want they DK Coin, they should simply travel to the west and slide down another rope, finding the letter N. After that, they walk up a small hill while avoiding enemies to spy the next rope. It guides them to some horizontal tightropes, which they need to fall down from to reach the next area. There, the apes continue along a long, rigid pathway, collecting the letter G, until they find another rope. Climbing down, they end up on a long tightrope in which they need to move across, heading east, and drop onto some wooden platforms. They soon make their way over a straight pathway to a flagpole. Touching the flagpole will end the level.

*Shortly after the Star Barrel, the group can find a steel keg near a rope. They should carry it to the area below them to find a Koin with the DK Coin. They need to defeat the enemy to get his coin. This can be done by standing on the foe's shield, distracting him. Then, they should throw their steel keg into the nearest wall. The keg should bounce back and hit the Koin on the side, knocking him out. Once this is done, the Kongs are given the DK Coin.

From the top of the rope, the active Kong must jump left and go past a Sneek. Dixie and Kiddy can obtain the Bonus Coin at the bottom-left.
