NES Remix Pack

Super Luigi Bros. is a modified version of Super Mario Bros. that is included as a separate game mode in NES Remix 2 and NES Remix Pack. Mario has been replaced by Luigi as the game's protagonist, who has his higher jump (but not higher traction) from Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. The levels have also been mirrored, now being traversed right-to-left. The levels and gameplay have not otherwise been changed from the original. In two-player mode, the second player has an identical color palette to the first.

After defeating Bowser in World 8-4, Luigi finds Princess Toadstool accompanied by Mario, implying either that he beat Luigi to the end or that Luigi is saving them both. After completing the game, the player can start again on Hard Mode, as in the original; completing Super Luigi Bros. also awards the player stamp 099 the next time they earn Bits in the main game mode.

The game is based on Remix I's sixteenth stage in the original NES Remix, which is a challenge featuring Luigi going through World 1-2 backwards. It marks the sixth and final game to celebrate The Year of Luigi, and it is the only such game to be released in 2014.
