Pirate Gooms[1] are a type of Wanderin' Goom that appear in the first two Wario Land games. They are darker than their ordinary counterparts, wear a bandanna, and originally held a spear. They typically pace back and forth and do not fall off unless pushed or thrown. Their spears are pointed forward, so Wario must avoid hitting them from the front. They resemble Galoombas from Super Mario World, Super Mario 3D World and Mario Party 10.

In Wario Land II, three nameless Pirate Gooms are introduced as Captain Syrup's sidekicks that steal the treasure of Wario Castle. They also received a change in appearance: their bandannas have stripes, they have lighter color, and they now wield tridents. The Giant Spear Man, an abnormally large Pirate Goom, is fought several times and serves as the game's "really final" boss.

Pirate Gooms make a cameo in WarioWare: Smooth Moves as part of the Wario Land microgame. The player needed to grab one and hurl it at an enemy by using the Wii Remote.
