Hey, I was just going to ignore this and I already message Waluigi Time about it, but this user is making backhanded comments about me and I'm not entirely sure how to handle the situation. It started when they deleted a message off my talk page that I simply reverted as I want to respect that messages should not be removed from talk pages. I haven't been on much because of other commitments so I simply said on my user page I wasn't editing much. Now every time I made small edits such as in the gallery for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope , [[1]]they [[2]]are [[3]]using edit summaries to call me out on this, when I feel I have not done anything pernsonal to them except ask politely to not remove messages from my talk page. Re:Move templates

I'm sorry, but some of these are either policy-driven or self-evident, and thus don't require much of any discussion to begin with, just routine second-guessing the information present in the articles. All it does is slow down or obfuscate sensible moves that would have been made a while ago by editors more familiar with those subjects. What happens if discussion stalls anyway? We just leave certain outstanding changes to obscurity? I don't really get it since the meta category templates were hidden for a reason, I presume. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:18, July 23, 2023 (EDT)

The proposal didn't account for any exceptions, so either there's a discussion somewhere or the template doesn't go on the page, simple as that. The template gets removed if said discussion is deemed inactive. If anyone more familiar with these subjects comes across these and wants to move them, then it would be up to them to bring it up in the talk page and put the template on the article. Either it was LOOONG time ago (back when I took it more lightly), or I have no idea what you're talking about. The most recent mistake is maybe the Sluggy, which I just recalled badly was named "Peluria", but then I rechecked the game footage of SMA3 and Kamek was like "Let's see how you deal with this "Sguscio"." which I then fixed. I made some tiny digging: no, the few times I added Italian names for the enemies that appeared in SMW2YI, I did use the names from other games (YIDS, YNI, YWW and YCW) nothing invented. Might have been two tiny cases in the past (something like "well, we have Skeletro Gabby and Gabby senz'ali so of course the "Flightless Skeleton Goonie" must be "Skeletro Gabby senz'ali" even tho it isn't written anywhere else." Renders

Hey there, I saw Yoshi and Blue Toad's infobox images updated with renders that hold a Red Shell. Is the policy correct in that the images should be just the character if possible? I know Nabbit's was updated for Wonder though he is holding a mushroom, I don't want to engage with reverting Yoshi's and Blue Toad's pages anymore to not cause an edit war, and thought bringing it up could help resolve this, thanks!

I don't mind using the images of them holding the red shells for the same reason Doc von Schmeltwick said about Nabbit with the mushroom, that the red shell is an iconic item throughout the Mario franchise and doesn't really specialise the game in any way. The rule about items only really applies if said item is specifically for the game or series such as sports gear or the Mario + Rabbids weapons. Luigi's SMBW artwork however I think is a hard no since that shows him using the Parachute Cap ability which is exclusive to the game, and Luigi's hat is never that big. WarioWare Renders

Hey, quick question, some renders for the WarioWare characters (specifically Jimmy T, 18-Volt, Dribble & Spitz, and 13-Amp, had new renders for Move It! but got reverted. Do you think the renders are fine or should the renders from Get it Together stay there for now? I think the Move It renders are fine but would rather not edit war about them. Thanks! I just remember Dr. Crygor having a different design every game and Mona wearing a different outfit every game, and their infoboxes were updated consistently per game. I don't see a reason not to use the new Move It renders with that knowledge. I thinks its an IP account that reverted but I'm not sure if a discussion should be made first. I do know that Jimmy T's render was used on the new website Nintendo of Japan made for the WarioWare series in general.

Enemy Profile

I'm no expert on the subject, but several Super Mario RPG enemy articles already do have a stat table for the remake which is taken directly from the game's monster list. On the lookalikes proposal

We saw that proposal passed, and in the archive, it's marked as done; however, we did notice a few pages are currently present in the categories that we did mention in our tremendous breakdown. So um, here we be, to ask if it's fine if we cull the following:

• Every instance of a shapeshifter should be moved to the shapeshifter category if they aren't there already. (e.g. Shadoo, Belome, or Ditto)
• Every instance of a clone that can look(a)like anybody, not just one character, should be moved to clones (e.g. Bubble Clone or Imposter)
• Fighting Polygons
• Gold Mini Mario from Mario
• Luigi should be removed from Mario's category.
• Wario should be removed from Mario's category.
• Waluigi should be removed from Luigi's category.
• Bowser Suit from Bowser
• King Boo from Bowser
• Koopa Zombie from Bowser
• Wooden cutout from Bowser and Peach
• Princess Shroob from Peach
• Funky Kong from DK
• Super Kong from DK
• Swanky Kong from DK
• ...and we might literally give Eddie the Mean Old Yeti his own proposal sometime in the near future, because as we've mentioned, he drives us insane to think about.

Oh, our bad! Admittedly, we're not too familiar with Belome's fight, so those just kinda melded in our brain with the 2,763 other redirects for bosses that are proper shapeshifters (cough cough Shadoo). we also blame the between christmas-and-new years brainfog. While we're here though, we should also probably ask about Cursed Mini Mario, seeing as we forgot to bring him up initially and figure he's probably safe to remove if Gold Mini Mario also got the boot; after all, what makes him "Cursed" is the monkey robot, which um. Hi, I unknowingly added a few of these back to their categories, not realizing there was a proposal about this. Sorry about that. The discussion pages for the various lookalike categories were mostly empty and I only realized I had rolled back on previous users' edits when two of mine were tagged as manual reverts. I'm not very familiar with how proposals are done here so it took me a while to find this page. I'm also completely new to using talk pages, so you'll have to bear with me here.

Can someone direct me to the breakdown where all of this is explained? I think it would be good if the category pages themselves made it clear what exactly qualifies as a "lookalike". I don't really see the issue with a clone also being considered a lookalike, or with characters like Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, or the Koopa Zombies being included, as the categories are quite small and don't seem likely to become overly cluttered to me. Also, to what extent can inanimate objects be considered lookalikes? Category:Bowser lookalikes contains several statues, including ones that don't move at all, so should the Papercraft versions of characters from Paper Jam count as well?

Category:Bowser lookalikes also includes False Bowser from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, so should the other Shadow Bug versions of characters from that game (Mario, Luigi, and Peach) also count?

It should also be noted that Shadoo isn't a shapeshifter, but an unseen character who creates clones for the player to fight. Don't know if they should be in Category:Clones or if each of their page redirects (Dark Mario, Dark Peach, etc.) should be added to the category instead. Brawl at all but it does look like the False characters could qualify, along with the papercrafts. I may also need to give some thought to Shadoo's clones. Okay, thanks, I think that proposal cleared some stuff up for me. I went ahead and added the Papercrafts, as well as False Peach from Brawl. Both her and False Bowser appear in cutscenes and play a role in the story of Subspace Emissary to some extent. The rest of the False Characters (including False Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong) are fought near the end of the game, are only seen in gameplay, and look different from the False Characters that appear in earlier cutscenes. These False Characters are instances of clones that can look like (almost) anybody in the game, so I didn't add them to Mario's, Luigi's, or Donkey Kong's lookalike categories.

Although Shadoo's clones can be considered an instance of "clones that can look like anybody", I'm not sure they should be removed from the lookalike categories. There's only four playable characters in the game, and the Cosmic Clones as well as Cosmic Mario/Luigi are both considered to be lookalikes, despite copying both playable characters.

Bowser Jr. resembles Baby Bowser more than Koopa Kid does, so I think he should remain in Category:Bowser lookalikes.

I'm considering editing the category pages to specify that "lookalikes" have to be intentionally and heavily designed after the characters which they resemble, and should include "doppelgangers" and "copies" of characters. Does that sound right to you?

Also, something interesting to consider are Mario Bros-esque characters like Cork and Cask, the Starshade Bros., the Hammerhead Bros., and the Massif Bros. Although they don't really fit into Category:Mario lookalikes or Category:Luigi lookalikes individually (Cork, Sledge, General Starshade, and Big Massif don't look much like Mario on their own, while Cask, Mallet, Sergeant Starshade, and Lil' Massif also don't look much like Luigi), as pairs they are definitely still meant to resemble the Mario Bros. Category:Thieves cleanup

There's been a lot of impetus to clean up categories lately, hasn't there? One I think could use a look at is Category:Thieves. Right now, it's not in the greatest state. It's an odd mix of occupational thieves and villians who steal as part of their greater evil plans. Not to mention we have all seven Koopalings and the general Koopalings page in there — why not just include Category:Koopalings as a subcategory? There was brief talk of cleanup from late 2017 through early 2018, though no action was made on it. I agree with Doc von Schmeltwick's suggestion of trimming the definition to just chronic and/or occupational thieves, though. SolemnStormcloud (talk) 12:26, January 8, 2024 (EST)

Elemental category stuff

Hey, I noticed you implementing that SMRPG category proposal, and that makes sense, but I feel like some of these removals feel a bit overcorrect-ish. I mean, the original elemental category proposal had an exception for stuff like Bowser being associated with fire due to his fire breath, but then you have Muckle, which only attacks with ice, is resistant to ice, and drops an ice-related item, and it was removed from Category:Ice creatures. I didn't want to have anything that could be arbitrary about this (e.g if enemies had resistances or used a lot of those types of attacks), so I'd still rather have the categories ommited from those for the sake of caution. New Soup redirects

I mean, since RelaxAlax started calling those games 'New Soup,' which was 6 or 7 years ago, a lot of people started calling those games that as well. A few years ago there were redirects created for The Super Mario Bros, Super Show episodes with titles originating from the Wildbrain YouTube channel such as "Ahehehauhe", and many of those ended up getting deleted. We do not need redirects based on what some random YouTuber or internet personality calls them, I've certainly never heard of RelaxAlax nor seen anyone ever call New Super Mario Bros "New Soup". Antasma

I need a page deleted.

Hello! I uploaded a MP4 media file recently that I meant to use as a video clip. However, it was uploaded as an audio file and not a video file. I then converted it to a GIF and attempted to upload a new version of the file, only for the wiki to stop me with an error message. I would like for the file that I uploaded (and its corresponding page) to be deleted, as the file is useless now that I have it as a GIF. Once the file is deleted, I will upload my GIF file. Please delete the page as soon as possible. The page is File:PPS Transformation Cutscene.mp4. I already contacted Mario (talk) about this, but I have gotten no response.
