Hmm, your talk page isn't for information about you, it's for discussions with you. Please move that info to your userpage. BlueYoshiYoshisStory.png Yoshi Egg 1990 Red-yoshi-with-umbrella.jpg 21:30, 20 August 2018 (EDT)

Whoops! I have just moved it to my userpage by copying and pasting it. Thanks for catching that.

For some reason, your signature was transcluding your userpage contents. This leads to another point: if you want to change your signature and aren't familiar with how to do it, go to your preferences area and use wiki markup to change your signature in the signature area. Once you're done, check the box that reads "Treat the above as wiki markup", then save the page. Remember, all signatures must contain links to the user-in-question's user page and user talk page. Thanks! MLPJToadetteWink.gif ToadettetheAchiever 21:41, 20 August 2018 (EDT)

Forum talk[edit]

Hi, just letting you know that talk pages are for discusions about improving the article, not for forum-like disscusions. If you want to discuss with our community facts about the Mario franchise, feel free to vist the Mario Boards (Just note that you will need to create an account there in order to post). BlueYoshiYoshisStory.png Yoshi Egg 1990 Red-yoshi-with-umbrella.jpg 20:22, 30 August 2018 (EDT)

Thanks for letting me know-didn't know about that before.

About Noteworthy and not Noteworthy Trivia[edit]

Hey, Mario Jc, I just saw your Cloud Kingdom edit.

Regarding the edit, which trivia is noteworthy and which trivia is not noteworthy? Just wondering, since noting that a kingdom has no 8-bit segments is noteworthy trivia, but noting that a kingdom has no Coin Rings is not noteworthy trivia. Perhaps you can include a link to which trivia is worthy of being noted and which one isn't. Mari0fan100 (talk) 16:52, 15 September 2018 (EDT)

About Super Mario Odyssey Photos[edit]

Are we allowed to insert in photos of someone playing Super Mario Odyssey in "Assist Mode"? If no, why not? Mari0fan100 (talk) 18:41, 2 December 2018 (EST)

All Prepped[edit]

Just confirmed my email address yesterday. Now I won't have to make any more accounts since I can easily get a new password by email if I forget my current password. Mari0fan100 (talk) 11:33, 27 December 2018 (EST)

Re:Least Favorite Character?[edit]

I'm not sure I have one aside from her, to be honest. I like or am indifferent to most Mario characters; the only reason I hate Baby Rosalina so much is because she contradicts the very little Mario canon established (Rosalina's storybook). -Skittles

Inactivity Reminder[edit]

I'll be going back to school this Tuesday, so I won't be as active on the wiki during the week unless I manage to finish all my homework and squeeze a few minutes in. I'll be more active on the weekends. You'll still see me online, though. Mari0fan100 (talk) 15:36, 6 January 2019 (EST)

Vandal talk pages[edit]

Hello, regarding your recent edits, while we do use the {{block}} template for talk pages of blocked users if they are not permanently blocked or if they have a talk page history that does not exclusively contain the welcome template, such as with Sonicperson's talk page, if the user is a vandal with a talk page that only contains the welcome template we generally delete the talk page outright, and in this case the {{delete}} template should be used. Thanks! Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 13:57, 13 January 2019 (EST)

RE:Sorry....[edit]

For future reference, proposals that effect how the administrative team works are a no, whether it's about block lengths or promotions/demotion. If you have a suggestion, you can post on an admin's talk page and it will be brought up internally.

In regards to the proposal, however, it's been decided that we will stick to the 2 week -> 3 month -> indefinite line for users. If there is a problem with their block, it can also be brought up, and the blocked user also has the option to email us through the link on the Admin Noticeboard. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 23:02, 15 January 2019 (EST)

RE Informal Reminder[edit]

It is true that not all users are blocked because of direct vandalism, however sockpuppeting, having an inappropriate username or another action that would grant them a block can be classified as a form of vandalism due to being malicious done, which is what I meant in my vote, so I apologize for any confusion. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 6:47, 19 January 2019

True, however YoshiStar28 was evading a ban. If we did not block users who evaded bans the punishments for ban-worthy actions would be worthless, and if we did not ban sockpuppets than proposals would be filled with people voting multiple times. If you have any questions or concerns about how and why users are blocked, you should contact an Admin and if you want a change in that system then you can ask them to bring it up internally. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 14:23, 20 January 2019 (EST)

Replying to old users[edit]

Hi, in the future, try to avoid contacting really old users for reasons like talk page archives like you did here. It usually isn't at all a good idea to start or reply to conversations that are outdated or no longer valid, as it adds no constructive input. In this case, said user hasn't edited since mid-2015, and though it is possible, it's highly unlikely that they'll actually respond to your comment in a timely manner. Thanks! MLPJToadetteWink.gif ToadettetheAchiever 10:51, 25 January 2019 (EST)

Thanks! I noticed that I also replied to Xzelion's talk page, but he was inactive, too... Anyway, I'll try not to reply to old comments again. Mari0fan100 (talk) 19:15, 25 January 2019 (EST)

RE: Block lengths[edit]

Former block was a mistake on my part. What's done is done, no need to correct it unless they do something block-worthy again. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 04:52, 28 January 2019 (EST)

Your post on MDHEXT's talk page[edit]

The user was commenting on a talk page, not editing a wiki article. I don't know what about it made you question his native language, but grammar isn't important here as long as it's comprehensible, so you didn't need to drop the "failing to follow writing guidelines" bit on them. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 19:55, 29 January 2019 (EST)

Sorry. I saw that when he typed out his comment on your talk page, he didn't capitalize the first word of every sentence. Is that something I should ignore? Mari0fan100 (talk) 20:36, 29 January 2019 (EST)
Unless they genuinely don't know at all and this issue carries over to mainspace, don't worry about it. Lots of users know the correct grammar but choose to forgo it in communication for the sake of typing out a quick message. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 21:21, 29 January 2019 (EST)

RE: Page restoration[edit]

The server was cleaned out of all the deleted content back in April 2012, so anything deleted before then cannot be restored. There's nothing but a block template on the talk page when it was deleted so I don't see the point in this anyway. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 18:55, 10 February 2019 (EST)

RE: 50,000 edits[edit]

Thanks, I hadn't noticed! Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 04:54, 15 February 2019 (EST)

RE: Background Color of Walkazo's Message[edit]

That's not what I was getting at. The previous color made the notice look more formal, and the bright-yellow color is distracting and just takes that away. Really, it's perfectly fine the way it is. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 20:41, 21 February 2019 (EST)

I agree that "deceased user" notices should be colored formally, as with other notices. MLPJToadetteWink.gif ToadettetheAchiever 23:06, 21 February 2019 (EST)
Though I agree with that, I don't know how Yellow is an informal color. Mari0fan100 (talk) 23:07, 21 February 2019 (EST)
Yellow is a warm color, usually meant to signify a happy feeling, which this... isn't. There's no reason to change it. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 00:16, 22 February 2019 (EST)

RE: Edit sniping[edit]

There wasn't supposed to be anyone to "beat" in the first place. I get that you're trying to help, but if an admin places a block, it's their responsibility to add the block notice themselves. If a significant time has passed since the block and no notice was added (because they forgot), then you can do it. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 00:34, 28 February 2019 (EST)

SuperMarioKid[edit]

Don't pile on if you don't have anything to add. If the admin already took care of what needed to be said, that's enough. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 23:17, 7 March 2019 (EST)

Warnings[edit]

Unless what they did was minor enough to downgrade a usual warning, if a user deserves a warning, give them a warning. This goes for all levelled offences for the most part. Best Fitness Friends (talk) should of outright received a warning. Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 15:06, 9 March 2019 (EST)

It is not about a user being new, policy must be enforced correctly. Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 15:09, 9 March 2019 (EST)

Users being blocked[edit]

If a vandal makes an edit that is minor vandalism then we generally do not block them unless if they continue vandalizing, if they had vandalized multiple times or has vandalized in the past. Doomhiker (talk)Topmini.png 17:44, 9 March 2019 (EST)

I mean, it's really up to the blocking admin to decide. Personally, I don't block for one small edit like that, usually that's just someone doing a one-and-done joke and it was nothing page breaking, but someone else might've blocked them. You've done nothing wrong, you used the admin noticeboard correctly.

RE: Image Expert[edit]

Okay, upload an image is easy. You, learn how to upload:

  1. Click "Upload file" under tools on the left side. It's not too hard to find it. Or https://www.mariowiki.com/Special:Upload
  2. Choose any image that is related to this wiki only.
  3. Aboutfile must be required before uploading. You have to replace any variable as Template:Aboutfile stated. You can remove any variable that is blank.
  4. Replace "{{uncategorized}}" with "[[Category:<GAMENAME> Any]]". Ex: [[Category:Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions Images]]. Select any license that image is correct. Again, Category and Licensing must be required.
  5. Now upload it and add [[File:<IMAGENAME>]] to the page.

It's really easy, isn't it? BlueSpinner (talk) 23:10, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

"False info/vandalism"[edit]

Please try to make better judgements first before immediately ruling everything as false information or vandalism. That goes to both reporting other users and issuing reminders/warnings, as two of yours have been overturned for the same reason already. Repeatedly handing out undeserved warnings, when in most cases a simple informal heads-up would suffice, can count as abusing warning privileges and could lead to your getting a warning yourself, and repeatedly making false alarms on the noticeboard isn't any better either. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 22:52, March 16, 2019 (EDT)

Ok, sorry. I will try to do that from now on. Mari0fan100 (talk) 23:03, March 16, 2019 (EDT)
A bit of specific advice: making one bad edit is not necessarily "vandalism." They very likely came from a different wiki with different rules and are simply used to different standards. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:30, March 16, 2019 (EDT)

Dear Mari0fan100,

Your current signature is in violation of one or more of the rules listed on MarioWiki:Signatures (signature is too long). Please change your signature and keep the regulations and requirements in mind when creating future designs. If you have not made the appropriate changes within one week of receiving this notice, your signature will be changed for you.

Your signature needs to fit in this box. Ashley pose SMM.png Mario JC 01:10, March 24, 2019 (EDT)

OK. I fixed it. Mari0fan100 (talk) 13:47, March 24, 2019 (EDT)

Stubs[edit]

Hey, the two articles you took the stub template off of are actually stubs. Stub articles are ones that are missing information, which both of those pages are, it has nothing to do with an article's length. A lot of short articles are stubs, but not all of them, similarly if a long article is missing information it can still be classed as a stub. Yoshi876 (talk)
