Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.

The ghost of Mario (he's dead, remember?) has informed us that he actually wanted the following six focuses for Spotlight. This unresolved situation is actually keeping him tied to the mortal coil, funnily enough. A strange thing to keep off the will and testament, but who are we to ignore the wishes of the deceased? Besides, a vengeful spirit is something we do not want to deal with amid the other wiki maintenance tasks. Before we perform the service which will put Mario's troubled soul at ease and allow him to ascend into the next world without regrets (or revive him in time for the holiday season, something like that), let's see how last month's focuses fared.

It was pretty good progress last month. The Real Color Splash Fan (talk) created the article for Super Star (New Super Mario Bros. Wii theme), BMfan08 (talk) expanded Link's Lightweight Longshots to include a layout section, Xiahou Ba, The Nasty Warrior (talk) elaborated upon the mechanics for Big Hit, Wildgoosespeeder (talk) got us a video of Super Paper Mario's Return Pipe being used (that's like, a BUNCH of pictures!), and Mariuigi Khed (talk) tracked down a citation for Criminal. However, it seems File:Moped Mayhem DNF 1P.jpg has caused a new mystery to come to light. It seems that the rank when timing out could depend on the version of Mario Party 8. An intriguing conundrum to be sure, but one for some other time.

And now onto this month's focuses:

Article Category Focuses
Valley of the Monsters
Wanted article
Tennis isn't a very scary sport, but maybe adding monsters to the mix will help alleviate that. Create the article for this location from Mario Tennis Fever to give the sport something scarier than tennis elbow.
Candy Shop
To-do list
A table showing the Candy Shop's offerings on each of Mario Party 8's boards sounds like something very important to have. Luckily, this information has already been complied by one ZoomZike. It just needs to be added here on the wiki, with proper citation of course.
Bat (animal)
To-do list
Up to bat is this quintessential Halloween animal. Its article is missing information from four games, so right off the bat there's clearly work to be done.
Mirror (object)
Articles that need more images
For this article to stand a ghost of a chance, screenshots of the remaining mirrors need to be taken. Some of the entries would also benefit from screenshots that put better focus on the mirror, such as the one for the Foyer and Armory.
Spooky Mansion
Articles that need more media files
No, this isn't the mansion of I Spy fame, rather it's a stadium from the Battle League game. Two themes play here, but there's currently only one. Add the second track and the task will be done.
Krow's Nest (Donkey Kong Country 2)
Citation needed
If Krow turning into a ghost wasn't frightening enough for you, supposedly this level was originally set during a storm. Is this statement true, or is it just for the birds?

Now just before we leave you, we'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 57 that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2024, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years. There are also thousands of articles with unsourced foreign names. They are found within this category, so please help out and add sources for them.

Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact us on either RHG's talk page or Technetium's talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
