Mario-kun Shageki Game is a furoku target game released in 1987. The game is themed after the Super Mario Wakuwaku Game Land manga, and was made available in an issue of the Shōgaku Ichinensei magazine. Like most furoku games, Mario-kun Shageki Game appears to be made almost entirely out of cardboard.

Details[edit]

The object of the game is to use the provided dart gun to shoot through the three windows of the castle, which features artwork of various enemies and objects appearing in the manga. Said windows feature cardboard pieces with unique artwork of multiple Koopa Troopas and Hammer Brothers. The Koopa Troopas appear in the first window, while the Hammer Brothers appear in the second and third. Upon shooting through one of the windows, rubber bands on the back of the game trigger and snap a piece of cardboard depicting a character appearing in the manga to the top of the castle. Shooting the first window causes Toad to appear, while shooting the third causes Mario to appear. Shooting the second causes Princess Peach to appear, though, unlike the other two, the artwork of Peach looks out from a balcony atop the castle.
