First appearance Yoshi's Island DS (2006)
Variant of Snapjaw

Snap Jaws[1][2] are red, organic-looking versions of Snapjaw that appear in Yoshi's Island DS. They are usually found in levels where Baby DK is the primary baby (such as in World 3). Snap Jaws constantly move forward and climb down on vines, apparently clinging to them with their huge jaws, and are often seen routinely falling off vines from a spawn point in the trees. Some Snap Jaws also appear without a vine nearby. Touching a Snap Jaw from the side or below will knock the baby off the Yoshi's back, although unlike their mechanical counterparts, their head can be stomped.
