A Gritty Goomba is a Goomba enemy that appears in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. They appear to be swathed in cloth and wearing what appears to be a pair of sunglasses. with a spike and colored flag protruding from its head; the colors of them and their flags depend on their location. They have weaker cousins that are found in Teehee Valley. Gritty Goombas are capable of summoning sandstorms and using them as a cover while trying to run into the Mario Bros., who must counter with their Hammers. Unlike the ones in Teehee Valley, when one of these Gritty Goombas performs its attack, it is harder to determine which brother it is targeting before attempting to ram him.
