My favorite Mario character by far is Wario. Aside from Wario, my other favorite character is Donkey Kong. ==Current ramblings about the wiki==
I'm currently working on getting the Mario vs. Donkey Kong article featured, in preparation for the release of its remake for the Nintendo Switch.

I also want to get the Super Mario Bros. Wonder article featured, but that might take another century or two, so it's not my highest priority. *MarioWiki:Image optimization currently reads: "Unfortunately, many of the existing GUI image optimization utilities, with the exception of ImageOptim, are very outdated.". However, ImageOptim online runs in a browser, allowing it to work on all operating systems, and it is generally far more convenient than a command line tool and much, much faster than PNG Monstrous. The page should be updated to reflect this.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong series iceberg
*Additionally, the PNG Monstrous page says that optimization is best for "fan-generated content, such as, but not limited to, emulator screenshots, sprite rips, 3D model rips, and map rips". Examples of what should not be optimized (such as, to my knowledge, official artwork from a press kit) should be listed on the MarioWiki:Image optimization page.

*What exactly counts as media that warrants italicization? Obviously, all games, animation, soundtrack albums, and print media would count, but what about physical games like card games, toys, food-based merchandise with an official title like Triple Salami Explosion, and merchandise in general? If only the franchise or series name should be italicized in these cases, this should be made explicitly clear in MarioWiki:Manual of Style.
*Is this officially titled the Nintendo Character Manual or the Nintendo Character Guide??? I'm going to lose my mind!!!

Wario article
The Wario article, immediately after being featured in October 2007.
Some highlights from this masterpiece of an article:
*"In Yoshi's Island DS, Wario appeared in his baby form for the first, and likely the only, time."
*"Seeing it as an opportunity to make a quick buck, he looted Planet Bomber and had an ungodly urge to see to the complete decimation of Planet Bomber as well."
*"Wario would put a bucket, or some other object, on Mario, Princess Peach, or Yoshi’s head to turn them into his slaves."
*"His shoes and pointed ears make him looks uncannily like an elf."
*"One popular question is what exactly is Wario to Waluigi?"
*"In the past, it's been suggested that Wario was actually Foreman Spike. That theory has been debunked, though some people still believe that Wario is based on Spike."
*"Wario's graphics varied in good and bad ways over the years he's been around."
Overall reaction:

Here's what I have to do before the Wario article is good enough to be featured once more:

Simple tasks
THE WARIO ARTICLE HAS BEEN FEATURED!!! <br>
*<s>Remove red links from Virtual Boy Wario Land section</s>
Wario celebrating his article being featured.
*<s>Write in more detail about appearances in Virtual Boy Wario Land and Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games to remove the stub templates from their sections</s>
*<s>Add more images (ideally, every section should have one image of Wario, but this varies depending on the size of the section)</s>
*Rigorously go over each and every section to ensure they are written to the highest professional standard

Appearances
One of the most important steps toward presenting Wario comprehensively is documenting all of his appearances in any media, including (but not limited to):

By the way, none of this was documented on the Wario article before, which just goes to show that Wario Franchise Appreciation and I are the only two people on Earth who care about Wario.

Sections that need less detail
Some sections should be more succinct instead of complete plot summaries:
*Wario Land: Shake It! (the section could omit the story introduction before Wario shows up)
*WarioWare Gold
*WarioWare: Get It Together!
*<s>Mario in Real Time (the detailed summary could go on that subject's article)</s>

The nitty gritty
*Now that the Manual of Style says that the "Other appearances" section on an article should only list media that the Mario Wiki does not cover, many of Wario's minor appearances could use more documentation:
**In what way does Wario appear in Donkey Konga?
**Which artwork of Wario appears as a stamp in Mario Artist: Paint Studio? (Most likely from Mario Kart 64, but I should probably play the game and/or rip the Wario sprite(s), just to make sure.)
**Wario's character description in Yakuman DS should be translated and mentioned in that game's section.
**What does Wario's Minecraft skin look like?
**The New Super Mario Bros. U section should include an image of the Wario costume.
*What events lead to Wario holding a gun in the Kodansha manga, and which issue does this panel appear in?
*Where does this render of Wario come from?
*Which images look best in the "Other appearances and references" section? (Try to limit low-quality images and nightmare fuel.)
*Play Pilotwings 64 to take a high-quality screenshot of the Wario Mount Rushmore head (the Mario one is here) and replace the low-quality image of Wario's Mario in Real Time display
*Ideally, pull a Nick Robinson and go on a quest to find the voice actors for Wario in Welcome to Greedville and the 2004 NMI Safety Video (although this might be a tad too ambitious)

Note that this list may not be comprehensive, and is subject to change.

Hi! I like Super Mario.

I think the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series is full of underrated classics that deserve more love. I enjoy games throughout the Super Mario franchise in general, though.

My favorite Mario character by far is Wario. Aside from Wario, my other favorite character is Donkey Kong. It would be Funky Kong, who is unequivocally more bodacious and potentially even more powerful, but Donkey Kong's storied legacy since the very first game in the franchise, plus his incredible variety of appearances across more than 40 years, mean that I find Donkey Kong more interesting as a whole.

Donkey Kong's idle animation during boss battles in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. I'm currently working on getting the Mario vs. Donkey Kong article featured, in preparation for the release of its remake for the Nintendo Switch.

Artwork of a Talking Flower in Super Mario Bros. Wonder I also want to get the Super Mario Bros. Wonder article featured, but that might take another century or two, so it's not my highest priority. For an easy way to see which level articles still need images, check out my sandbox: Model of the Tox Box enemy from Super Mario 64.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong series iceberg

An iceberg about the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. How much do you know about Mario vs. Donkey Kong?

Wario appreciation piece

Artwork of Wario for Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins

Wario is the ultimate chaotic neutral of the Mario universe. Unlike Mario, who has nearly no personality to speak of, Wario has a multitude of traits that others might call character flaws, which he recognizes and deliberately uses to his advantage. His lack of hygiene is a force to be reckoned with. Despite supposedly having a face revolting enough to scare even ghosts, one of his best friends is attracted to him; not to mention, he has his pick of the lot. He weighs over 300 pounds, but they might as well be 300 pounds of muscle, considering his consistent ability to duke it out with Bowser and Donkey Kong in terms of raw power. He can easily perform physical feats on a level that Mario could only dream of with a power-up. His childhood resentment has only driven him to make great advancements in kingdom-conquering, discover an extra-dimensional portal on his whim, save an entire world merely by accident, cross the bounds between fiction and reality, and claim what he rightfully deserves - time and time again. As a result, he's become overwhelmingly successful, with a flourishing game company and countless priceless treasures to his name. Clearly, Wario hasn't let Mario break his spirit, as his self-esteem knows no bounds, and when he's not having extravagant adventures, he has a hobby in art - he can be an excellent artist, when he wants to. Because he embraces his imperfections and becomes a better person not in spite of, but because of them, Wario is the shining example of what it means to be human. Oh, and he's also immortal and has made a deal with the devil.
