K. Rool throws his crown and, unlike in ''[[Donkey Kong Country]]'', almost immediately runs - the Kongs must [[jump]] on him before he reaches the far side of the arena and reclaims his crown to register a hit. If they do, he will wince, his crown will reappear and he will be invulnerable until he reaches the other side. In either case, once he reaches the far side, he will throw his crown again and the cycle will repeat until six hits are registered.
King K. Rool throws his crown at the player and then runs in the direction he is facing. While he is running, the player can damage him by jumping on his head. After six hits, he will run back and forth while jumping and bellyflopping on the player when he is near them. After he jumps six times, he will continue his previous cycle of running and throwing his crown, though at a faster speed. After six more hits, he falls off the level. The word "Congratulations" is shown on the screen and the credits roll.

After the sixth hit, rather than throwing the crown, he will instead start moving and jump high when he reaches the Kong (immediately, if they are directly in front of him) with a belly-flop motion, which they must dodge. He will then run to the other side and repeat the effort until they have dodged him six times.

Finally, he will return to throwing his crown and running, but with a significantly faster gait than in the first cycle. After six hits in this last cycle, K. Rool is knocked from the blimp, the Kongs are victorious and the credits roll.

K. Rool's Kingdom[1] is the final boss level of the game Donkey Kong Land and is the final level in Big Ape City. In this level, the player must beat King K. Rool. It is similar to the level Gang-Plank Galleon in Donkey Kong Country.

Layout[edit]

While no Buddy Barrel is broken on-screen, both Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are available to the player from the start of the fight, regardless of their previous status.
