World 2-2 is the second level of Desert Land in Super Mario Bros. 3. It is accessed by completing World 2-1 and its own completion unlocks World 2-Fortress.
Layout[edit]
The player starts at the bottom of a hill with a Goomba on it. Past the hill is some quicksand with a Venus Fire Trap in it. Past this is a Wood Block with a power-up inside, that can be collected by bumping into it, and a pipe over a pit, followed by more quicksand with a Venus Fire Trap. Afterward is an oasis with Cheep-Cheeps in it and green Koopa Paratroopas flying above, with a lift that moves across it and through Brick Block obstacles. Beyond the oasis is the Warp Pipe to the goal.
If the player can collect 30 coins in the level, by using a hidden Switch Block in the second Brick Block over the oasis, a White Mushroom House will appear on the map, containing an Anchor.
