The level takes place in what appears to be Dark Land. After passing over various tank fortifications, Mario or Luigi enter what appears to be the inside of one of the tanks with an abundance of Bob-ombs. At the end of this area, the player has to defeat Boom Boom. If Mario or Luigi collect 110 coins in this level, they receive three extra lives.

New level elements include a Mushroom Coin and a ? Block-styled Coin Block.

Notes[edit]

  • The pipe background in the second half of this level is missing the leaking animation, instead showing a glitched airship tile. This is because the airship tileset overwrites the space in memory normally reserved for the pipe background's animation. The same also happens in the interior area of Bowser's Airship 1.
