World 7-6 is the sixth main level and the eighth level overall of Pipe Land in Super Mario Bros. 3. The level becomes accessible upon completing World 7-Fortress 1 and its own completion unlocks Worlds 7-7 and 7-8.

Layout[edit]

By going through the door at the end of the starting area, the player will be brought to a vertical platforming segment with wrap-around edges, similar to World 7-1. Moving to the left, the player can wrap around to the right of the screen to continue up a set of stairs with Koopa Troopas walking down them. The player can then use some Jump Blocks to reach a Directional Lift that will change the way it moves each time the player jumps on it. Using the lift, the player has to move upward while navigating around pipes with Piranha Plants in them and Donut Lifts. Hopping onto the next Directional Lift with an up arrow on it, the player has to avoid getting pushed through the lift by the stationary ? Blocks with spikes on them. After the second ? Block is an Directional Lift that will move left, and the player has to keep up with it as the lift moves through a pipe, under a wall the player has to crouch under, and through to the right of the screen where the player has to take a Warp Pipe upward.

On the other end of the Warp Pipe are three Directional Lifts. The one that will move to the left will allow the player to get a power-up in the third ? Block from the left, though the Directional Lift will have to be used in order to reach the next segment upward, while avoiding spikes and moving through a narrow gap. On the other end of the spiked wall are more Directional Lifts the player has to utilize in order to continue moving upward. The final Directional Lift ahead has to be used to navigate around two pipes with Piranha Plants coming out alternatively on either end (with a Hidden Block containing a 1-Up Mushroom to the left) before reaching the Warp Pipe to the area with the goal.

It is also possible to fly over the stone barrier at the start of the level and reach the end, bypassing the entire level.
