Super Mario Checkers & Tic Tac Toe is a game set themed to the Super Mario franchise. The game set was first released for purchase in 2011.[1] It has one board game resembling classic checkers and one resembling tic-tac-toe. The games pit Mario against Luigi, with their king pieces being their caps and their regular pieces having pictures of their faces on them. The checkerboard has ? Blocks as a pattern, while the tic-tac-toe board has ? Blocks and Brick Blocks. The rules for the checkers game are the same as in classic checkers. Tic-tac-toe can be played on its board with the tokens from the checkers set.

A new version of the game set containing only Super Mario Checkers was also released on February 20, 2014. It includes only the checkerboard and the checker tokens.[2]
