Double Trap is a Shooting Event that appears in the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. The objective of this event is to score as many points as possible by shooting the clay discs without missing any more than five. The starting record for this event is 240pt(s).

Gameplay[edit]

In this event, the player plays as a single Wild Ones character. The player has to move the system to shoot the clay discs, with two being fired each round from points indicated on the ground by orange arrows. The player only has two shots each round, and is able to make no more shots once both are gone until the next round, when their character automatically reloads, with their number of remaining shots shown on the screen. The player is, however, able to shoot both discs in one go if they are positioned correctly. The player moves the system around to move the cursor on the screen towards the discs, which will turn from blue to pink once the disc is within it, then they must then press the R Button to make the shot. The disc will be shot as long as it is within the cursor. Each disc shot is worth ten points, and the discs are fired increasingly faster as the event goes on. If the player misses a shot, it will be recorded, with five missed shots causing the event to end, with a miss being given for each missed disc.
