Template:Racecourse Maka Wuhu (known as Wuhu Mountain Loop in Europe and Australia) is the final race track in the Star Cup of Mario Kart 7, which takes place on Wuhu Island. It uses the same theme as the one in Wuhu Loop.
Description
Unlike most other courses, Maka Wuhu has no laps, but a start and end point (which are in different areas, a trait specific to this track) and is divided in three sections. The race starts at the base of the island near the bridge, and crosses the Wuhu Loop track. After some twists and turns, the track heads into the caves on the mountain. Upon emerging from the cave the track loops around the side of the mountain and pass the island's castle before continuing to ascend the mountain, dodging rolling boulders as they go. At the top of the mountain, players will then drive over a boost pad and glide down to the ocean and the finish line.
Course layout
The race starts on the Wuhu Beach and, after three wood trick ramps the road crosses the Wuhu Loop track. After one another trick ramp with a car under it. Then the player can choose to remain on the main road with bumps or a road in the middle of the grass with trick ramps (shorter),then the player cross the Shrieking Falls Bridge and then there's a big curve with mud puddles and bumps and the first section ends. The second section starts in a cave with stalagmites, trick ramps and holes. When the player exits the road is precipitous on the sea and he arrives at Lakeside Castle. After a boost panel the road turns to right and the player crosses the Shrieking Falls bridge number 2. After one another turn there's a trick ramp and the second section finishes. The third section start with a right turn. In this zone rolling boulders fell from the mountain. This is the tallest point of the track. Then the road begin to descend. There's a trick ramp,a slight turn and the glider activator. Here the player can choose two roads : the first continues the glider on a platform in air with baloons, when the player lands on the beach he runs into two trick ramps under a big rock and the race finishes, the second continues the glider on the hotel's roof and when the player lands he runs into another two trick ramps, not under the rock and the race ends
Shortcuts
Maka Wuhu has two shortcuts. The first one is a hidden path in the lake in front of the castle near the end of the second section, while the second one is through said castle.
The course also has a rather infamous glitch shortcut, activated by colliding into the walls near the water, or by jumping into the water on the right of the course, right after the second section begins, and teleporting the player to the bottom of the hill before the third section begins. As of version 1.1, the glitch has been removed from Online Multiplayer, but it still exists in the Single Player and Local Multiplayer modes.
The course has another glitch. It is unknown how to perform this glitch, but if the player falls off the cliff in the cavern after the second section line, Lakitu will drop them in front of the finish line.
Update history
- Patch version 1.1 of May 15, 2012.
- Removed the shortcut exploit that exists at the start of the second section.
