The DK Jumbo is Donkey Kong's kart in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. It is a heavyweight kart and has Donkey Kong's trademark 'DK' on the front. It is made out of a huge barrel, and is set as a default when the game is first started.

According to the in-game stats, when compared to the Wario Car, the DK Jumbo is slightly heavier, enabling it to easily push the Wario Car (along with the Turbo Birdo and Parade Kart) around. However, the DK Jumbo can still be pushed around by the Koopa King, Piranha Pipes and the Boo Pipes, all of which are tied for being the heaviest karts in the game.

In terms of its actual stats, the DK Jumbo shares its top speed with the Barrel Train, Bullet Blaster, and Piranha Pipes. It's also tied with the Piranha Pipes for having the worst acceleration of all the two star acceleration karts. The kart's width is average compared to the other heavyweight karts, being thinner than the Parade Kart and the Koopa King, but wider than the Piranha Pipes, Boo Pipes, and the Wario Car. On a side note, the DK Jumbo offers the second weakest off-road of all karts.

The DK Jumbo returns in Mario Kart Tour. It appears to be equipped with the Wood tires, based on their appearance in Mario Kart 7. It also lacks the second handle. The game also introduces a white variant, named the Chrome DK Jumbo. Both versions of the kart increase score and boost time from Jump Boosts and share the Super classification, but are treated as two separate vehicles. The only major difference between the two karts are the tires, in which the Chrome DK Jumbo's tires are also Wood tires, but their designs are taken from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe instead.

Trivia

  • In Mario Kart 7, the Wood tires have a similar appearance to the tires of the DK Jumbo. However, unlike the DK Jumbo, they actually boost acceleration but hinder top speed.
  • A similar vehicle called the Barrel Roller appears as the starter vehicle in Mario Party 9 for the board DK's Jungle Ruins.
  • The DK Jumbo, Barrel Train, Parade Kart and the Koopa King are the only karts in the game to have unique engine sounds.
