Pennies are enemies that only appear in Hotel Mario. They are found in only one hotel—Wendy's Blitz Snarlton Hotel. In this hotel, Mario and Luigi must be careful when collecting coins, as they may really be pennies in disguise. When they are approached, pennies grow eyes, two very heavy eyebrows, and a smirking mouth. Once Mario finds the piggy bank in the secret room where Wendy had hidden the real coins, they no longer become pennies.
