Ludwig's Thump Castle Hotel, labeled Ludwig's Castle Hotel on its entrance, is the fifth hotel found in Hotel Mario, owned by Ludwig. It is a horror-themed castle. The enemies found in this hotel are Skeleton Koopas, Boo Buddies, Big Boos and Pat the Bats. The doors in this hotel periodically vanish with some stages containing a door that is entirely invisible until Mario or Luigi enter it. These rooms contain Bowser's Ghost Cologne which Mario or Luigi apply to themselves and stop the doors from vanishing. The boss stage is known as Ludwig's Frantic Lab.

Naming

"Thump Castle" is potentially derived from the real-life Trump's Castle.

Notes

• During the opening cutscene, Mario says, "We ain't afraid of no Koopas!" This references the line from the Ghostbusters theme song, "I ain't afraid of no ghost!"
