Mario Deka is the form and role Mario takes as chief detective of the Special Kinoko Police in Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga.
After the Hōmotsu-kan is robbed, Mario asks the Mushroom King to let him investigate, and the King gives him a star-shaped SKP badge, nominating him chief detective. That badge is actually carved from a Super Star and Mario makes use of the invincibility it gives (by holding it in his hand) in the first chapter to survive the Bullet Bills that the Choropū-tachi leader shoots at him.
In the following chapters, Mario does not make use of the invincibility power again, just using other power-ups. In the fourth chapter, the badge is used as a walkie-talkie.
Despite being in the same team, Luigi and Yoshi do not have the star badge.
