Template:Levelbox World 5-Castle is the Castle level of World 5 in New Super Mario Bros. 2. This level is a lava level, and it centers around Fences. It includes a unique type of Fence that can be changed to move up or down the Wire using B Button or X Button. A certain amount of fences move on rails so the player has the input to move it up and down to avoid enemies and the lava below.

Boss Battle

The boss of this Castle is Ludwig von Koopa. To hit him, use the Cannon Pipes to shoot Mario to Ludwig. After one hit, he upgrades his blasts to four from three. Another hit, he swings on the chain, making attacks more difficult. After Mario and Luigi defeat Ludwig, they see Princess Peach in a caged Koopa Clown Car. Before the Bros. can free Peach, the Clown Car traps Peach in a cage and is taken away to the final world, World 6, and all the way to Bowser's Castle.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: Not too far before the checkpoint, there is a hidden red pipe that can be reached with hidden blocks. The red pipe takes Mario directly to the star coin.
  • Star Coin 2: Immediately after the checkpoint, The star coin is floating over the lava. Mario must wait for the grating to rise from the lava to get it.
  • Star Coin 3: Once the vertical rectangular grating begins to sink into the lava, Mario should wait until he is able to grab the third star coin. Then Mario can leap towards the next fence before he sinks into the lava.
