Beijing is the capital city of China. Besides Rome, Nairobi, Moscow and San Francisco, it is one of the five cities Luigi has to visit in Mario is Missing! in order to defeat Ludwig von Koopa. During the events of the game, Luigi's task is to return artifacts from famous landmarks in Beijing: the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall of China, and the Forbidden City. When walking around the city, Luigi also walks across Beijing's Main Street, Chang An Avenue, as confirmed by the city's police officer.

Beijing is also scene of the Olympic events in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
