Banjo-Kazooie refers to: the bear and bird duo of Banjo the bear and Kazooie the bird, the Banjo-Kazooie series of games they star in, and the first game in the series, Banjo-Kazooie for the Nintendo 64. The duo of Banjo and Kazooie are often seen together, and thus are commonly referred to together in hyphenation. As a playable duo, they appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the third Fighter's Pass DLC character.

Banjo and Kazooie, as a franchise and as characters, are owned by Rare Ltd., a former second-party developer for Nintendo. In 2002, Rare was sold to Microsoft, and the rights of both Banjo and Conker were transferred to the company.
