Template:Level Winky's Walkway is the sixth level in the popular Donkey Kong video game, Donkey Kong Country. It is also the first level in the Monkey Mines area, located on Donkey Kong Island.
In this short walkway level, the Kongs will meet no tough challenges. They will, however, meet a new Animal Buddy, known as Winky the Frog. Winky will help them bounce to Banana Bunches, defeat enemies, and even reach Bonus Levels. This level also marks the first appearance of Oil Drums, though they only shoot enemies at the heroes here. Other foes in Winky's Walkway include Kritters, Neckies, Gnawties, and a lone Zinger. This level is notably the shortest level in the Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance versions of the game.
Level Layout
When Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong enter the level, they will find a slanted stairwy leading to a Kritter and a Necky and if one of them is jumped on, it will allow the Kongs to nab the letter K. There will be more Kritters and a Necky leading to the other platform while the Kongs continue throughout their journey. There will be two Neckys and a Kritter that can be used to reach Winky the Frog, which will help the Kongs to reach Winky to ride him throughout the level. Then the Kongs along with Winky must jump across some more platforms to find the the letter O, along with the Star Barrel.
Halfway throughout the level, the level gets more difficult to complete without the help of Winky. The Kongs will encounter the first Oil Drum of the level, which spawns Gnawties. The Kongs must jump over another Necky, leading them to a Bonus Level. Another Oil Drum spawning Gnawties will be found, along with several Neckys and a Zinger guarding an Animal Buddy statue. From there, another Necky can be jumped on to collect the letter G. Another Oil Drum is encountered and after the Kongs and Winky pass it, the can find the exit to move onto the next level.
Bonus Level(s)
- Shortly after the Star Barrel, the Kongs must following a short trail of bananas leading to a Bonus Barrel above them. In order for the Kongs to reach the Bonus Barrel, they must bounce on a nearby Necky or just simply use Winky to hop into it. Once they enter the barrel, they will be taken to a Bonus Level. There, they must walk across a flat surface, collecting many bananas. Banana Bunches, located on the top of the area, than can only be collected with Winky's help. When the Kongs are done collecting, they can move to the exit at the right.

Trivia
- Winky's Walkway is the only level that was extended in the Game Boy Color port of Donkey Kong Country. However, it returned to its original length in Game Boy Advance version.
