Not to be confused with Star World.

This article is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.

Template:Worldbox World Star is the final world that appears in New Super Mario Bros. 2. It requires 90 star coins to enter it. Dry Bowser is the boss of the castle. It can be unlocked by beating Bowser in World 6. Unlike the first worlds, World Star (New Super Mario Bros. 2) has Star Coins with moons imprinted on them rather than stars.[1] World Star appears to be similar to World 9 and World S, as they are all bonus worlds unlocked by beating the final boss.

Level Information

World Star-1

This level take place at night. It consists of many Brick Blocks and ? Switches which can be used to make various groups of Brick Blocks rotate on a point. Destroying too many Brick Blocks can open up bottomless pits, though there are some Used Blocks that prevent the level from becoming impossible. There is a Red Ring that has a Coin Coffer come out, when defeated it will give out Red Coins.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: The player needs to hit the right brick to use the P-Switch. Once pressed, bridges will temporary open up, and the player needs to fall all the way down. Once down there, there's a Cannon Pipe, which shoots you through the first Star Coin.[2]
  • Star Coin 2: The player needs to Ground Pound 2 rows of bricks, at the right of the Star Coin, and then use a Koopa Shell to get the second Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 3: The player should jump down before hitting the ? Switch to get the last Star Coin.

World Star-2

This level takes place high in the sky, on top of what is supposed to be a deserted castle, where grass and other vegetation has grown on the rooftops, making this level loosely similar to Sky Sanctuary Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Super Leaves appear here, aiding Mario throughout the level. The level is abundant in Red Koopa Troopas, Donut Lifts and moving platforms.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: Directly above a moving platform just after two POW Blocks.
  • Star Coin 3: Under some Donut Lifts, Mario will need to jump as soon as he gets the Star Coin.

World Star-3

This rather short level's theme is a combination of a beach and Ghost House theme. Seven Whomps and four Super Whomps are in this level. There are also seven groups of Peepas throughout the level.

World Star-4

World Star-5

This level combines the elements of grass and sky. Lakitus appear alongside red and green Koopas and Paratroopas. The level also contains a Gold Ring and Dropping platforms.

World Star-6

This level is, in a way, an underwater fortress. The background matches the ghostly setting to level 2 of World Star. The key enemy (and the only enemy) in this level is the Fishbone. The level also features a Red Ring and a Roulette Block.

World Star-7

World Star-Castle

There are 2 parts of the final castle. The first part has many Grinders and also has the Koopalings blasting Mario like they did in Bowser's Castle. There are also ropes and fences Mario can climb on. The second has Grinders and the Koopalings but Mario is now on a Snake Block. At the end Mario battles Dry Bowser. On the first phase, he will breath out blue Fireballs before jumping, allowing Mario to hit the ! Switch. On the second phase, the Koopalings make Dry Bowser large. Mario will have to jump on platforms to reach the Giant ! Switch.
