Summer Shootout is a course which appears in the Story Mode of Super Mario Maker 2. It is given to Mario by Yamamura after completing both Coin Collecting on an Unmanned Airship and Swamp Escape by Shell! for the first time, subsequently playing another level, then inspecting Undodog's Dry Bones Shell. The course has a difficulty rating of 4/4 stars. Completing this course for the first time rewards the player with a Yamamura Shirt.
The level begins with a big Shoe Goomba, which Mario must defeat to enter a Key Door. The entire rest of the level consists of jumping off of Cannonballs and big Cannonballs to reach the goal.

- "Coo coo! Coo. Coo? (I was flapping my way through the air, trying to get some exercise in, when I found myself in a hail of bullets! They must all be flying south for the winter. Would you mind stomping them out of the sky for me?)"
