Long-Lost Love and Distant Darling are minor characters in WarioWare Gold and WarioWare: Move It! who always appear alongside each other. Long-Lost Love primarily dresses in pink-red clothes and Distant Darling dresses in blue clothes. In Gold, they shows up in five microgames. They also appear as opponents in the minigame Wario Kard, which establishes their names. There, Long-Lost Love always plays scissors against the player's second move and prevents attacks from becoming Special Attacks, while Distant Darling does the same but with rock. They also appears in one microgame in Move It!.
The development team of WarioWare Gold aimed to update the microgames with new scenarios and created connections that did not exist in the microgames' earlier appearances, with Goro Abe citing how the remade versions of Hookin' Up, Love Tester, Rocky Reunion, Tearful Reunion, and Long Lost Love depict "a drama between a man and woman that spans several microgames."[1]
