Howdy![edit]

First of all, welcome! (Though, maybe with the amount of contributions you made as an anon, it's more of a "thanks for signing up!", but that doesn't roll off the tongue as well.) As a heads-up, only Autoconfirmed users (people with 10 or more edits and have been around for 1 week) can vote in proposals, though new users are free to comment. If you got the notice about the vote being reverted, that's why. And, even with that said, considering the pace of the contributions you made before even being registered, you're already well on-track to being autoconfirmed if you keep up the pace, so don't worry. Italics[edit]

Hello, Wandering Poplin! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.

If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes.

Unused files[edit]

Please make sure to use your files soon after you upload them; you've uploaded a bunch of files that have yet to be included to a page. In the future, if any uploads aren't used within 24 hours of uploading them and we can't find a place for them, they'll be deleted. Edits[edit]

Avoid splitting sentences in a paragraph with line breaks like this; it makes no visible difference from separating them with a space and only breaks up readability. If you're trying to start a new paragraph, add two line breaks.

Also, make sure that words and punctuation that aren't part of a game title are not italicised. "(Nintendo Switch)" or any commas or periods that come after are not part of the title, and should go outside the apostrophes. So these:

''Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)''
''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)]]''
''Paper Mario,''

should be formatted like:

''Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door'' (Nintendo Switch)
''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)|Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]'' (Nintendo Switch)
''Paper Mario'',

Understood, I'll keep an eye out for these mistakes going forward. It's difficult to notice these kinds of things in a sea of letters and symbols at times... Wandering Poplin (talk) 19:54, December 24, 2025 (EST)

You're still doing both these things in your edits. Please keep these in mind in the future. I'd also appreciate a response to my question regarding FP-Up and to eviemaybe's question about it being under construction (you should tag with {{construction}} if you or someone else intend to work on it in the near future, not to flag it for other editors to come by and expand on it, which is what {{stub}} is for). Daisy gallery split[edit]

I placed delete tags on both of the split gallery pages for Daisy since your split was carried out with zero discussion. We didn't split the galleries for other characters like Mario or Bowser because of prominence, but because they were growing to the point where they were too large to be all-encompassing. If you believe Daisy's gallery should be split off, I'd heavily encourage you to raise a proposal for it. Power Flotzo (talk) 21:10, December 27, 2025 (EST)

Well, we'd had the "Split suggestion template" sitting there for a few months and I had assumed it was simply a task nobody had gotten to yet. Upon further researching the matter now, it seems the proposition (If you could even call it that) had been shot down fairly early, and nobody had ever remembered to remove the tag. There goes an entire hour of my life, though... Wandering Poplin (talk) 21:23, December 27, 2025 (EST)

Question about the oppose on my UTC proposal[edit]

I just realized something. Hey, why wouldn't UTC work for you? And what's the thing that makes it that EST does work for you guys? Like, what is it that makes EST work better for you guys than UTC. As I (and @LadySophie17) said; EST is inherently American (or in other words: too American) and this is an international wiki. Besides, UTC is better recognized than EST because UTC is equal to UTC+0, which makes it easier to understand how late it is in UTC compared to your timezone (except if you live in UTC of course). So let me ask again: what is it that makes EST work better for you (and just the whole wiki in general) than UTC? Hey, umm, it's been three days since I posted this haven't you noticed? Not being a beggar or anything but I'm just still waiting for an answer. Yellow Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 17:23, January 10, 2026 (EST)

Ankoopa[edit]

Actually, the remake info is still on the Big Koopa Troopa page thanks to a proposal from before we knew "Ankoopa" was indeed an official name, though I think at this point someone should propose to merge the remake info back to the Ankoopa page. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:20, January 20, 2026 (UTC)

I don't have any problem with the M&LSS+BM info being on Big Koopa Troopa's page., the issue I had was with the quote at the top of the article: ("Aaaah! How did THAT happen??? You guys are no slouches!")
Because of the 3DS remake, Big Koopa Troopas have said that phrase before, but the line itself is still pretty specific to the Ankoopas.
My understanding of the the general purpose of the quotes at the beginning of these articles is that they're meant to give a general insight into the character's personality, (or just an iconic catchphrase in the case of Mario,) but with that context in mind... I don't think that the M&LSS+BM quote really makes for the best option for Big Koopa Troopa's page in particular.
It also means we don't have to deal with two different articles sharing the exact same quote at the start of the page. Wandering Poplin (talk)

HP/FP-Up[edit]

You mentioned the in-game sources you found for these two status effects called them "HP-Up" and "FP-Up". Can you specify where you found them? Wolf Link costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 12:59, January 25, 2026 (UTC)

Re: Koopa Scepter[edit]

is this page still "under construction"? the Construction template is currently not very useful because so many pages have it, so i want to comb through them and see which ones can have it removed. — eviemaybe Tanooki Mario's tail, cropped (talk) 22:05, February 15, 2026 (UTC)

actually, asking the same thing about FP-Up. — eviemaybe Tanooki Mario's tail, cropped (talk) 13:13, February 16, 2026 (UTC)

why[edit]

did you remove my edits? 174.178.119.207 07:53, February 18, 2026 (UTC)

Updating file description[edit]

When updating file descriptions please make sure no information is lost. In your recent edits to the Mario Golf: Super Rush files (such as File:MGSR icon player wiggler.png) you removed the mention of the file being an asset ripped from the game, which is important context for the file’s source that should not be left out. — Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 01:55, February 21, 2026 (UTC)

Star Power / Countdown Timer[edit]

Hi! I'm here to note that not all move templates can necessarily be resolved only by moving the page and changing the intro. In specific, Star power (Yoshi's Island series) very much needs to be rewritten to match the article's name, as it currently is written to be about a user interface element named Countdown Timer when the phrase "star power" refers to something that isn't a user interface element. The article really needs a complete overhaul to be about star power first and the Countdown Timer second before it can be moved to "star power (Yoshi's Island series)". I'm going to stick a rewrite template on Star power (Yoshi's Island series) for now, but I would really rather not do a page move if the content isn't going to match. Salmancer (talk) 02:09, February 26, 2026 (UTC)

Ok. I'll keep that in mind going forward. I'm still a bit new to moving mainspace pages, so there's definitely a few things I might've overlooked regarding the process. Wandering Poplin (talk) 05:11, February 26, 2026 (UTC)
