(First topic)[edit]

THE IMAGE ON THIS ARTICLE IS NOT FROM SUPER PRINCESS PEACH. They are fan-made sprites made to resemble Blizzraurus in Super Mario Advance 4. As this is fanart, it should be deleted. Go here to see for yourself. Cool. A GIF. Featuring me. Cool. 3D, who likes fanart.. in its place. Cool. A GIF. Featuring me. Cool.

Jojora

Jojora

Blizzaurus in her sprite and dragon forms

Blizzaurus

It should be obvious but I'm referring the top character.

Both Jojora and Blizzaurus are blue, ice-fairy like creatures that use similar abilities and have a similar boss format of using a giant monster in their fight, even if the method.

I added this to the page but it was discarded as "useless coincidental trivia" by an admin and told not to be added again.

Any mentioned of these characters being similar on rheir pages was disallowed by an admin for "coincidential irrelevant trivia", an argument that doesn't make sense when many pages on this wiki contain mentions of how a character resembles another character that it's not confirmed to be related to, some examples of this include:

Snake (Mario Clash) resembling the pre-release snake from Sticker Star. Artwork of a Snake from Mario Clash. A screenshot in Paper Mario: Sticker Star's data, showing an unused enemy.

Mecha-Cheep Rendered model of a Mecha Cheep in Mario Kart 8. Poké Ball in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Wisdurm Wisdurm's butterfly form from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Side image of Fairy Birdo

Even Joke's End's article mentions a similarity to Crystal Palace from Paper Mario despite these areas having no overt connection aside from being late-game ice areas.

Screenshot of Mario and Luigi at the entrance to Joke's End. Mario and Bombette exploring the Crystal Palace in Paper Mario

But these aren't issues! They're comparisons that are used in order to further describe the characteristics of certain characters and locations. These comparisons are constantly shown to be fine on this wiki and they should be. They benefit the article by giving a similar example to compare and contrast.

These similarites, in my opinion, are significantly less overt than the similarities between these two characters Jojora and Blizzarus, and I'm not arguing they reference one another, I'm just saying these are interesting coincidences, not "useless coincidental trivia", that should be disregarded as garbage.

I don't think there is an argument to disallow mentioning similarities between these two characters when they share substantial more similarities than these ones.

    • Both are small feminine blue skinned fairy-like creatures with blue hair and a blue dress. Both have
    • Both carry a blue magic wand that they use to cast ice magic with.
    • Both characters have a giant monster in their boss fight despite their relatively small size.

I think these are decent coincidences that, along with all of these other pages, should be mentioned.

"coincidental irrelevant trivia" doesn't even make sense as an argument against this, that's what the entire notes section is for.  Of course it's "irrelevant trivia", who cares? This entire wiki is based on "coincidential irrelevant trivia".

Support[edit]

  1. Rendumguy (talk) Per proposal.

Oppose: Disagreement[edit]

  1. Camwoodstock (talk) "Well, I found a few examples of pages drawing these tenuous comparisons!" and "we're meant to be allowed to draw these tenuous comparisons" are two very different statements, and bringing up the former isn't really an endorsement of the latter. The "similarities" between Blizzarus and Jojora begin and end at "ice fairy boss" and everything else is increasingly contrived and irrelevant to what they actually are. In fact, if we were being consistent, the examples brought up should be removed from their corresponding pages if we were being consistent. There's only so many ways to draw a cartoon snake, red and white are not an uncommon color combination, the resemblance begins and ends at "fairy with snout", ice levels exist as a known type of level. The era of the wiki where we try to connect random spin-offs to paint some grand picture of All Worlds of the great big Extended Marioverse and how our Big Eight all impact it has been over for decades. We're not a book of Lore™, we're a wiki. We are beholden to what is in the video game. Not random strings connected between them by people outside of it. This shouldn't be added, and we'd go as far as to say that all of those examples should be removed, too.
  2. Nelsonic (talk) Per Cam.
  3. Mr. Sorbetti (talk) Per Wandering Poplin and LadySophie in their edit summaries. Also per Cam.
  4. Arend (talk) This feels like a rinse and repeat of that Terrormisu proposal from back in May by the same user. I don't really have the energy to fix the inconsistent image sizing right now; nor do I have the energy to argue at the moment, so I'm just gonna per Camwoodstock.
  5. Mario (talk) Contrived comparisons. Just a Terrormisu repeat, and the formatting of the proposal further obscures the points being made.
  6. Xiahou Ba, The Nasty Warrior (talk) These are entirely irrelevant comparisons.
  7. The Real Color Splash Fan (talk) This reminds me of how someone compared Crazee Dayzee (moon) with Void Termina because they look similar. Per all.
  8. Hewer (talk) I could see the argument on the Terrormisu proposal considering the ubiquity of Peach as a character, to the point it would be surprising if a character in a Wario game looking that similar to her was coincidental. But in this case, both of these characters are quite deep cuts, and their similarities don't extend much further than a few common tropes (small fairy design, ice magic), so I don't think this one is worth mentioning. I would also disagree with mentioning some of the examples given in the proposal, like the Mecha Cheep one.
  9. Yoshisaurus18 (talk) Per all, especially Arend in both here and the comments.
  10. Rykitu (talk) Per Cam and Arend.
  11. Wandering Blizzard (talk) My main issue with edits like this, the aforementioned Terromisu ordeal, and others like it, is that they generally try to extrapolate far too much from far too little. My thoughts regarding the alleged Jojora/Blizzarus connection itself have already been thoroughly expressed by other users in greater detail, so I won't bother to repeat them.
  12. The Dab Master (talk) Per all.
  13. SolemnStormcloud (talk) Per all.
  14. Similar to Iand255 (talk) Per everyone. While I generally want to give people the benefit of the doubt, after taking a look into this person and their, not just history, but recent history on the wiki per Arend and Poplin's comments, and taking into account the proposal itself and it's formatting; this proposal seems to be a hastily thrown together, poorly written, petty method of trying to find validation for being angry that their edits were, rightfully might I add, reverted. And while, similar to Poplin, I hope that I'm wrong, I've spent enough time sifting through the block list in my free time to see the patterns this user is exhibiting. Though, much like many upstanding users that I see around the wiki, I do sincerely hope that this will one day just be a regrettable, but long passed, footnote in their history.

Comments (Allow mention of similarities between Blizzaurus and Johora)[edit]

Are we REALLY gonna do this again (this better not end up in another post-proposal, Genesis-long discussion of concentric circle-talking tedium before it eventually closes down by an admin) ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 00:35, September 14, 2026 (UTC)

Also, regarding the similarities you pointed out between Jojora and Blizzaurus:

  • Points 1 and 2 can simply be combined as "Both are blue, fairy-like boss characters carrying wands and possessing ice powers." It feels like this point was split in two so you could make the similarities feel stronger, but it only makes the comparison dishonest and artificial.
  • Point 3 isn't even all that comparable, considering how different the respective giant monsters even are:
    • Jojora's friend is more or less a muscular monster made of snow, and actually a helper aiding the boss in its battle.
    • The giant monster in Blizzaurus's boss battle IS Blizzaurus. It is the initial form they take before losing three health points, upon which they assume their true form. It's a form change, not a separate being. Moreover, unlike Jojora's friend, it's a dragon or other reptilian creature.
  • By your logic regarding Point 3, Bowser Snow Statue/Mizzter Blizzard is also comparable to Blizzaurus, as well as Jojora's friend; and the final boss of Bowser Jr and Bowser in New Super Mario Bros. too would be comparable to Jojora and her friend. If all it takes to be a noteworthy comparable is being a small guy boss that involves a big monster boss (regardless of its actual appearance, or if it's a form change or a boss helper), then there would be a thousand boss characters comparable to each other!

I would also like to mention that the other provided comparisions (Birdo/Wisdurm, Mecha Cheep/Pokeball, VB Snake/PMSS Snake, Joke's End/Crystal Palace) mostly have the opposite effect of their presumed intent. I think all of those subjects are examples of "nobody ever bothered removing this" rather than "legitimate similarities worth noting."
That being said, in the case of Birdo/Durmite/Wisdurm specifically, I think that it may be worthy of a separate discussion in itself. The resemblance isn't exactly hard to notice, but given the precedent set by severing the non-existent "Princess Peach/Terrormisu" connection, it may be a topic worth revisiting.
Additionally, the proposal's attempted rebuttals to the "coincidental irrelevant trivia" statement seemingly fails to understand the underlying points behind why it was labeled as "coincidental irrelevant trivia" in the first place, even going so for as to claim:
  • "'coincidental irrelevant trivia' doesn't even make sense as an argument against this, that's what the entire notes section is for. Of course it's 'irrelevant trivia', who cares? This entire wiki is based on 'coincidential irrelevant trivia'".
...Which is blatantly wrong, and I am beyond certain that the proposer was fully aware that this statement is untrue when they wrote it.
Lying does not help to strengthen your arguments, it only weakens them, and erodes your credibility.
I may be wrong (and I hope I am), but given these issues, its grammatical errors, its questionable formatting, and the various argumentative fallacies exhibited in the prose, I get the impression this proposal wasn't fully thought out, and mainly exists to say "No, I want this to be here, and all of you are wrong." rather than a legitimate attempt to convey why this "similarity" is noteworthy in any capacity, and address the concerns of the other editors.
I sincerely hope that this is not the case, but given some recent actions exhibited by this user... it doesn't sound entirely out of character at this point. Wandering Poplin (talk) 20:53, September 15, 2026 (UTC)
Frankly, this "I want this to be here, and all of you are wrong" attitude is also the kind of impression I'm getting from not only this proposal and their recent behavior preceding it, but also the Terrormisu proposal from before, especially regarding the aforementioned post-proposal discussion in which it's evident Rendumguy is unable to accept a loss.
