hello it's me sorbetti Sorbetti (talk) 17:20, January 3, 2025 (EST)[edit]
Hi
- Close, the ~'s should go after the "hi", not in the title. But you've got the general idea! Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:11, January 3, 2025 (EST)

Enemy proposal[edit]
Howdy, Sorbetti. I hope you are doing well. My name is Nintendo101, I am one of the administrators on the wiki. I noticed you recently posted this proposal. I have been working with another user on a very similar policy proposal for multiple months. The draft can be viewed here. It is aimed at clarifying our enemy coverage on the site, and would create the breathing room for colored variants to receive their own articles.
While you did not do anything wrong, I would greatly appreciate it if you cancel and withdraw your proposal. The draft I have been working on has been a very big time commitment and incorporates some nuances not reflected in yours, and I would feel awful if all that time went to waste. Please let me know when you receive this message. - Nintendo101 (talk) 15:18, March 16, 2025 (EDT)
- God, I'm looking forward to seeing a more elaborate proposal on this topic. I've already canceled the proposal so you guys can bring a bigger proposal without any problems. Good luck and sorry for the inconvenience.Sorbetti (talk) 15:51, March 16, 2025 (EDT)
Duplicate proposal headers[edit]
Hey, I'd like to make the request that you not create duplicate headers for your proposals, as they turn out to be redundant. Also maybe don't create so many proposals in a short amount of time. Power Flotzo (talk) 14:34, March 18, 2025 (EDT)
- Okey, I waited for Mikey's proposal to end to do more, now I will wait until April 1st to continue, to let the others processSorbetti (talk) 15:10, March 18, 2025 (EDT)
You're still doing this. Only one header is necessary for the title. Power Flotzo (talk) 21:36, March 28, 2025 (EDT)
- @Power Flotzo Wait, what do you mean by duplicate header, can you explain it to me better?Sorbetti (talk) 22:17, March 28, 2025 (EDT)
- In the example I just linked, you have two headers at the top that read "Split Water Bazooka and Electric Bazooka from Undergrunt Gunner", separated by the TPP template. However, one of the headers has two equal signs on each end, while the other has three on each end. I deleted the one with three equals signs and removed one equals sign from the options and comments to make it less repetitive.
- Hopefully I explained it well enough for you. Power Flotzo (talk) 22:26, March 28, 2025 (EDT)
Uploading files[edit]
When uploading next time, please remember to fill in the file summary properly:
- For the {{aboutfile}} template part, any parameters you're not using, like "4=Describe edits, if any", should be removed.
- For the {{uncategorized}} part, it should be removed and replaced with an image category link (in square brackets) based on the game, film etc. the image is from and the type of image:
[[Category:Super Mario 3D Land screenshots]]
- Categories like "blocks" are not for images, they're for articles only.
Mario JC 09:24, March 30, 2025 (EDT)
Again, you only need image-related categories on a file page ("Category:(game) screenshots", "assets" etc.). Anything else like "Category:(game) enemies" or the general game category don't go on files.
Mario JC 05:24, April 14, 2025 (EDT)
You don't need both "images" and "screenshots", just "screenshots".
Mario JC 11:23, April 17, 2025 (EDT)
"Stub"[edit]
"Stub" refers to articles that have practically no content to all, not any article that is missing even one bit of information. An article with a full gallery, Niol section, appearance list, and at least decent prose is not a "stub." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:00, April 2, 2025 (EDT)
- @Doc von Schmeltwick so what is it?Sorbetti (talk) 18:02, April 2, 2025 (EDT)
- You would use {{Rewrite-expand}} and add a reason to it. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:05, April 2, 2025 (EDT)
Categories on userspace[edit]
Don't add category links to your sandbox, otherwise it places the userspace page in those categories when they should only be for mainspace articles.
Mario JC 11:16, April 7, 2025 (EDT)
Italics[edit]
Hello, Sorbetti! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.
If you are using a device that uses curly ("smart") punctuation, you may need to disable this function in your device's settings to be able to type out the correct apostrophes. |
Mario JC 09:14, April 15, 2025 (EDT)
Also, please make sure to transclude your signature page when you sign, and not include the full signature code on the talk page. In your preferences, the "New signature" field should be changed to {{User:Sorbetti/sig}} with the "Treat signature as wikitext" checkbox ticked.
Mario JC 09:18, April 15, 2025 (EDT)
- It's not something you place, it's a way text looks. When you name a game title, like Paper Mario: Sticker Star, it has to be written like: Paper Mario: Sticker Star (notice the text looks different - that's what's called italics). So instead of simply typing:
[[Paper Mario: Sticker Star]]
- you add two apostrophes on both sides:
''[[Paper Mario: Sticker Star]]''
Mega Cheep Chomp[edit]
The deal with the proposal was to split the thing that was called "Mega Cheep Chomp" or "Kyodai Bakubaku." The Sticker Star thing shouldn't be included unless a source calls it by a "large"-type name (PRIMA saying "a giant Cheep Chomp" doesn't really count, as that can also just mean "a giant enemy called Cheep Chomp" rather than "a larger-than-normal Cheep Chomp"). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:52, April 25, 2025 (EDT)
- I know, however I asked this before in the server's discord and this was recommended to me, if you have a more reliable source than PRIMA that calls them Cheep Chomp, then I will cut it out.
- But for now, as it is the only source we have where they are given a name (even if it is descriptive), I will include it on the page.

Re: UFOs and Aliens[edit]
- "Small UFO" (円盤型UFO)
- "Green UFO (shoot)" (射撃型UFO)
- "Pink UFO (charging)" (突進型UFO)
- "Gray UFO with arms"' (大型アームUFO)
- "'Large UFO'" (ヤミの巨大UFO)
- (キャリーエイリアン Carry Alien)
I'll add the source from each page when created.

Chargin' Chuck proposal vetoed[edit]
Hello Sorbetti! Your Chargin' Chuck proposal has been vetoed because it exceeds the limit of how many proposals a user can have at any time, both ongoing and unimplemented, as stated by rule 2:
- A given user may author/co-author a maximum of five total ongoing/unimplemented proposals. Any new proposals over this limit will be immediately canceled.
You currently have four ongoing proposals and one unimplemented one, that one being your Princess Peach: Showtime! UFO proposal. Just wanted to let you know!
Sparks (talk)

- Do unimplemented proposals count too? Wow, I wish I'd known that before.
Sorbetti
(talk) 12:18, May 17, 2025 (EDT)
- Pretty sure they didn't before. The "ongoing" one's been around for about a month, not sure when the "unimplemented" part was added. I wish that these changes weren't done so quietly. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:30, May 17, 2025 (EDT)
NIOLs Citations[edit]
Thanks for adding citations to many enemy names. However, please remember to use the dedicated citation field. You can use it by adding a _C to the end of the language, such as SpaC= or JpnC=. This helps keep things organized and consistent, and ensures if we ever change anything about the template, the citations will stay updated properly. — Lady Sophie

Hi[edit]
Just realized you are working on the Spanish Mario wiki I have, and I don’t know if you can contribute a bit since Im quite occupied.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Carl2321 (talk).
- Hello, yes, I found it the other day, and since I am a native Spanish speaker and I have access to several Spanish sources, I have no problem contributing. In fact, it is a pleasure of mine.

(talk) 21:58, August 11, 2025 (EDT)
@Sorbetti Where did you find the Spanish wiki? Carl2321 (talk) 22:34, August 11, 2025 (EDT)
I already thought about it! Carl2321 (talk) 22:54, August 11, 2025 (EDT)
Framing on voting headers[edit]
Hi, Sorbetti. I undid your recent revisions to your Naval Piranha proposal. Framing why other users may vote a certain way, especially in a way that passively antagonizes those who oppose, is discourteous behavior. I do not think it is necessary to give you any sort of warning for doing so this time, but please do not do something like this again. - Nintendo101 (talk) 19:23, August 25, 2025 (EDT)
- I understand. I didn't do it with that intention but in retrospect, it looks bad, I'm sorry, I'll try not to let it happen again.

Message for the Discord folks[edit]
I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused or if I've been insensitive or annoying at times, but it was never with malicious intent. Since I'm not a native English speaker and I'm still learning, I'm not an expert, and sometimes I struggle to communicate clearly. Also, the English community is quite different from the non English one, which sometimes leads to misunderstandings and disagreements, and yesterday was the last straw. I think it would be best if I stayed away from the Discord community for a while until I learn to communicate better with you all. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience and if I hurt anyone's feelings, but I think I need to take some time off. I'll still be active on the wiki as always, but I'll avoid rejoining the Discord community for a while.

Re: Barrel Guy[edit]
as the person who implemented the proposal and created the page, do you think it should be split? personally, since it is not recognized as a separate variant, it should simply be in the Shy Guy article, but i would like to hear your opinion. —
eviemaybe (talk / contributions) 21:29, December 4, 2025 (EST)
- Well, obviously, from my subjective point of view, I like split enemies. But if I am objective, I don't think it necessarily requires a merge with Shy Guy. I would compare its lack of a name to the multiple pages of Shy Guy variants in Yoshi's Crafted World. These are variants that sometimes have slightly or completely different behaviors, but unfortunately, they went without names. Barrel Guy appears alongside normal Shy Guys, doesn't behave like them, grants a different score, and obviously has the barrel lid that normal Shy Guys don't. What the page needs now is an internal name to replace the conjectural one. If the internal name is generic, like "Shy Guys holding barrel lids" or something like that, I would lean more toward a merge. But for now, as I see it, the page is about another Shy Guy variant with its own characteristics that uses a conjectural name while waiting for an official one.
