Template:DKJB Kingdom The Strawberry Kingdom is the fifth kingdom in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and the first kingdom link to the K Barrel. This kingdom is located on top of large trees in the canopy layer. The Strawberry Kingdom can be accessed by completing all the kingdoms linked to the D Barrel and collecting six or more Crests. The Strawberry Kingdom is the dominion of Mo-Hog in the GameCube version, or Fleet Roc in the New Play Control! version. Donkey Kong travels through this kingdom to fight one of these mighty bosses. At the end of every level in this area, Donkey Kong must bite into a giant strawberry to complete the level.

Levels

Helibird Nest

Helibird Nest is the first area of the Strawberry Kingdom. The level takes place in a rainforest canopy with many tall trees and vines. Assisted by his Helper Monkey friends and his vine swinging abilities, Donkey Kong makes it through a portion of this level. He meets his third new Jungle Buddy, Helibird, here as well. With Helibird's flying abilities, Donkey Kong travels high in the sky and reaches the end of the level. At the end of this level, the big ape meets an over-sized Zinger-like enemy, who must be defeated for him to find the giant strawberry at the end of the level.

Level Layout

This level begins at the bottom of the damp rainforest, where one can find a Helper Monkey and a vine. Donkey Kong can use the helper to throw him to this vine, which swings him to the Helibird of a nearby branch. The bird flies him to the canopy of the forest, where there is an area full of Blooms. There is a small, bee enemy near the Blooms to defeat as well. As the Helibird flies the big ape between the green tree branches, it passes a few other Helibirds to help Donkey Kong if he falls. A bird also gives the Kong bananas as he travels, although he has to keep up with the creature to get more beats.

Farther into the level are more bee enemies, as well as a large plant that shoots additional bananas to Donkey Kong and his Helibird. More Blooms are in the following area, where two tree branches above open up to reveal a path. The Helibird must take the ape through this path before it closes to help Donkey Kong collect more Blooms and enter a new area with several flower-like objects that produce wind. These plants push the Helibird upwards between some more tree branches, until he reaches a circle of Banana Bunches. Once he clap-grabs them, the ape confronts a large Zinger enemy. A small passage above also opens when he does so, which takes him to an optional area full of more bananas. The path in this optional area loops around to take him back to the entrance, where he can come back down to challenge the large bee enemy. Once this foe is defeated, Donkey Kong and his Helibird can head over to a giant strawberry growing on a nearby branch. If Donkey Kong bites into this, the level ends.

Spirit Tree

Spirit Tree is the second area of the Strawberry Kingdom. Donkey Kong has to climb inside this large tree. The tree's interior consists of many vines, Banande Lions, and Helper Monkeys, which can be combined with the ape's wall jump abilities to score many beats. Near the end of the stage, Helibird carries Donkey Kong the remaining distance of the level. While in flight, a plant shoots bananas at Donkey Kong, allowing him to increase his beat count. After completing this level, Donkey Kong fights the mighty boss, Mo-Hog (or Fleet Roc in the New Play Control! version.)

Level Layout

The level begins with Donkey Kong falling inside of the tree. He can make Blooms, which form together to create a star, appear by sending a sound wave around the area. There is a narrow passage near here, which the big ape can run through to find two walls above him. He must wall jump up the walls, taking him to some Banana Bunches. There is another narrow passage near here, and it is occupied by a few round enemies, who hide on the walls when hit by a sound wave. In a much wider area outside of this passage, there is a yellow Hawg, who is running in Donkey Kong's path. It can either be defeated, or simply jumped over. Farther into the level are a few long vines, which Donkey Kong can swing on to reach a high ledge and a Banande Lion. Below the vines are some enemies who jump onto the ape to attack him. The Kong can defeat them all at once to find many bananas to clap-grab. The Banande Lion on the high ledge near these foes flings Donkey Kong to an upwards passage, which the ape must wall jump up to reach another ledge with a Helper Monkey. This monkey can throw him over a wall and into a gap.

At the bottom of this gap is a tightrope to break Donkey Kong's fall, and also to bounce him onto a Banande Lion. This flower sends him to another set of walls, which must be wall jumped up for the Kong to progress. A Helper Monkey waits nearby to throw Donkey Kong to some more helpers and many Blooms. The third Helper Monkey in this group throws him to a vine, which he can swing on to cross a gap. There is a Banande Lion on the other side of this gap, and it flings him to a Helibird on a higher area. The Helibird must carry the ape up the remaining part of the level, where it travels through a wide pathway. A few Banana Bunches are on the way to the end of the stage, as well as a few small, round enemies. Many Blooms can also be found above the second Helibird in the level, who waits in its nest to take Donkey Kong upwards if he falls off his current buddy. At the highest point of the tree's interior are some uncommon plants that shoot bananas at the ape. He can collect these to gain beats, and then direct his Helibird to the right, where the way outside of the tree is. Once out of the Spirit Tree, Donkey Kong comes close to a giant strawberry, which he must bite into to finish the level.

VS. Mo-Hog

Afterward, Donkey Kong has to face Mo-Hog, a Rogue-Hog lookalike, but with a lighter skin tone and grey hair. The battle will take place in a forest-like setting, with a large tree in the background. It attacks by throwing electrified coconuts at regular and high speeds at DK. When it reaches half health, it will gain the ability to leap in the air, store energy, and then unleash it by flying right at him and swiping its hoofed hand. When defeated, it, too, will fall unconscious, allowing slight amounts of electricity to stream out of its body.
