The '''Star Gate''' is a character in ''[[Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time]]'', being the gateway to the [[Star Shrine]]. The Mario Brothers (both younger and older counterparts) go to the Star Shrine to search for a [[Cobalt Star|Cobalt Star Shard]]. However, the path was blocked by the Star Gate. It told the four that they must be deemed worthy to pass. [[Mario]]'s heart is read and classified pure. The Star Gate did not have to read the Babies' hearts, as it knows that they are already pure. However, the Star Gate claims Luigi was cowardly and therefore denied entry. Nevertheless, it offered them three choices to make up for his ignobleness. The group had no choice but find an artifact called the [[Aurora Block]]. Once they found this block, Luigi was told to hit it. However, it kept moving away from him. After this, the Star Gate asked who was responsible for the accomplishment, and the three options were:

The gate continues his slanderous tirade until Luigi breaks down in tears. Eventually, Mario puts his foot down and Baby Mario attacks it with his hammer. After this, the Star Gate dubs them "the best siblings ever" and confesses that this was all just a test to prove their brotherly bond. He also deems all four brothers worthy to enter the Star Shrine, including Luigi. Luigi is then told to strike the Aurora Block, which he ultimately does. It then turns giant to match the size of Luigi's heart, squashing him. After this, the Star Gate finally opens.

The Star Gate is a character in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, being the gateway to the Star Shrine.
