Note Block Rock
Note Block Rock[1] is a play experience found in Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan and Universal Epic Universe. In both parks, it is found left of Peach's Castle, next to the Piranha Plant Nap Mishap Key Challenge. Note Block Rock consists of six Note Blocks arranged in a line. In Universal Studios Japan, the third and fifth blocks from the left are placed higher than the others, while in Universal Epic Universe, they are all at the same height.
Hitting Note Blocks from below causes each to produce a different note. If a Note Block is glowing in a particular color, hitting it will start a chain of blocks that must be hit in order. Completing the sequence causes all Note Blocks to begin blinking and playing a snippet of a corresponding arrangement of a Super Mario theme. There are six main color-coded songs, and three secret songs. Secret songs can be unlocked by hitting secret sequences of Note Blocks when specific colors are glowing (such as playing the Secret Red Song when a block is glowing in red).[2][3][4]
