M-Power
M-Power is an unlockable Technique exclusive to Mario in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. It costs 30 Power Orbs to equip. It grants a powerful temporary damage buff (excluding dash attacks) to himself and all allies within range, which can be checked with Tacticam. M-Power's effects last the entire turn, so if any allies are in range, Mario may active M-Power for himself and his allies, and then his allies may move away from Mario and take any action while keeping the buff throughout the turn. Smashers, except Garden and Tropical Smashers, have their version of M-Power called NME Empowerment, which boosts enemy damage output by 70%.
Strategy[edit]
One of Mario's most powerful Techniques, M-Power helps justify Mario's spot as a hard hitter in the team, which is crucial as Mario is a required team member and has otherwise middling power and a situational Melee weapon that is hampered by his poor movement. Mario can use M-Power in conjunction with his Hero Sight upgrades and Stomp or Melee to deal devastating damage in one turn himself (his power can be upgraded for a huge 70% boost to power), but his ability works with most teammates. While the investment of Power Orbs to reduce cooldown time is hefty, it is a worthwhile expenditure that opens up much more possibilities to deal damage, while players also see clear benefits to upgrading power increases. Increasing range is also helpful, especially considering Mario's problematic mobility issues. It pairs exceptionally well with Luigi, a hard hitting ranged specialist who also has multiple Hero Sight (Steely Stare) upgrades, and Rabbid Mario, who can first take advantage of M-Power, use Magnet Dance to draw enemies nearby, and deal devastating AOE damage with his hammer Melee weapon. This combo of moves is helpful when missions call for eliminating Smashers or other enemies with high health quickly, especially if they are chipped by multiple allies dashing into them. M-Power also stacks well with Rabbid Luigi's Mega Weaken technique, which further boosts the damage dealt.
