The Great Deflate is a 2-vs-2 minigame in Mario Party 4 and Mario Party: The Top 100.

Overview[edit]

At a beach, an inflatable Thwomp falls onto the ground, and the camera zooms out, revealing a second inflatable Thwomp as the teams land on each respective one. In Mario Party: The Top 100, the Thwomps have their modern facial expression.

Players must ground-pound an inflatable blue Thwomp enough to completely deflate it. Ground Pounds from higher jumps deflate the Thwomp further. In Mario Party 4, when players ground-pound the Thwomps, its sound effect increases in pitch. The first team to meet the objective wins, but if neither team does so within 30 seconds, it is a tie. If a player is partnered with a CPU, the CPU mimics the player's movements.

The ending shows the winning team and losing team performing their respective animations.
