Cliffhangers is a 2-vs.-2 minigame in Mario Party 4. Its name comes from the term "cliffhanger", referring to a story ending with a suspenseful situation without properly resolving it.

The two teams are shown starting to climb up the mountain, with the screen split to show each team.

Players must attempt to scale a cliff face while tied together. Along the way, strong winds will attempt to blow them down. Players must hold on to the cliff face when the wind blows to avoid this. If not, then they get blown farther down the cliff. The first team to reach the top wins.

The scene changes to show the winning team on the top of the mountain with their flag behind them. Both players will do a victory dance. The losing team is not shown.
