"Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Friendly Townfolk" is the second episode of The Play Nintendo Show on Play Nintendo's YouTube channel. This episode covers Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Plot synopsis[edit]
Andrew Trego flies out of Izzy's warp pipe and starts singing a rock song that has the show's title as the only lyrics. Andrew says the theme is a work in progress and introduces himself and Izzy. Andrew hits a ? Block and reveals the topic for the "Andrew & Izzy's Top 5" segment to be the top five Animal Crossing townsfolk they would be best friends with. Izzy is confused as he thought Andrew was his best friend, but Andrew clarifies that the townsfolk are not his "best best friend", which Izzy does not believe.
For number 5, Izzy says they are going live as he holds a microphone with "Izzy News" written on it. Number 5 is revealed to be Blathers. Andrew says it would be awesome to hang out with him in a T. Rex fort, and wonders what sound the T. Rex makes. Izzy believes the T. Rex says "dinosaur" which Andrew agrees with.
For number 4, Izzy writes the aforementioned number in his diary using a typewriter. Andrew says the townsfolk chosen is like having two twos for the price of one. He uses both hands to display the twos, but a third hand appears displaying the number one, causing Andrew to call for his mother. A scared Andrew lies on the couch and tells Izzy about the other hand, before getting back up and revealing the townsfolk chosen to be Timmy and Tommy.
For number 3, Izzy pretends to drive through "Izzy's Drive-thru" and orders the item thats labeled number 3. The townsfolk chosen was Kapp'n.
For number 2, a Brick Block falls on Izzy's head, causing him to see "double" (referring to two Super Stars circling around him) and assuming it's time for the second to last pick. The townsfolk chosen was Isabelle.
For number 1, Izzy celebrates for reaching the last number. Andrew sings a song to Izzy about how he is his best friend. When Andrew asks what Izzy thinks of the song, Izzy is seen having pillows attached to his ears. The townsfolk chosen was K. K. Slider. Andrew says he wants to start his music career in Club LOL. After Andrew asks the viewer to let them know what they're favorite townsfolk are by commenting, he reviews Animal Crossing: New Leaf as requested by Reggie Fils-Aimé. After the review, Andrew crumples the script and tosses it into a basketball hoop above Izzy, who eats the script. Andrew then encourages the viewer to visit the Play Nintendo website and do an Animal Crossing personality quiz, and to buy Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards for use in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer and Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival. Andrew reminds Izzy that he can not hide his amiibo from him. When Izzy hides the figures, Andrew shows Izzy a picture he drew in 3rd grade depicting him and Princess Peach with hearts around them, embarrassing him. To make things even, Andrew grabs a hammer from a Hammer Bro and hangs it on the wall and asks Izzy if he agrees to a "best friend dance-off", which they do. Andrew then reads comments from the previous episode to Izzy.
