Should this video get an article?

I was writing the article for the "Frizzy's New Game - Can You Guess the amiibo?" video. But after writing this, I'm debating whether or not this even warrants an article on the Super Mario Wiki. Up until this point, I have given every episode and video an article or a red link to fill in. The episodes that cover non-Mario games are given select coverage so that only the segments featured are covered (not like it makes much of a difference), because Izzy the Piranha Plant is a major character and the majority of the merch in the room the show takes place in is Mario merchandise. this video is where I have reached a roadblock.

This segment's only purpose is to advertise amiibo for the Pikmin, The Legend of Zelda, and Splatoon franchises. There isn't even any non-game related skits here, it's just a game Frizzy makes to advertise the non-Mario amiibo. Furthermore, while Izzy (the only character who is apart of a Mario-native species) does appear, he has no speaking role, leading me to believe this upload should not receive an article.

So should we give this an article or not? If we don't, we can have the summary placed into the episode it comes from. Rykitu 10:58 PM (UTC) May 31, 2026

Thinking about this more, Frizzy is the star of Frizzy's Silly amiibo Theater, a show, while having Nintendo characters, prominently features Mario and Bowser Jr. in every episode. And since we are already giving the non-game segments full coverage, we could also rope this in along with it even if it isn't advertising anything related to Mario. See discussion I started below. I don't think a lot of those pages should even get articles. I could see justification for the amiibo theater pages because they star Mario amiibo, but we should keep the scope of coverage here at least related to Mario games. It's me, Mario! Pages from this show have little to do with Mario

I'm struggling understanding why there's so many articles pertaining to this show. We got Super Smash Bros. - Gameplay & Quest for the amiibo!, which generated a discussion dispute the scope of the characters in the advertisement about Super Mario Bros. and amiibo (hardly about Mario), but I'm noticing pages that seem to have almost nothing to do with Mario. Splatoon 2 Time Traveling, the one I've seen from Category:Videos that caught my eye, has nothing to do with Mario, except I guess Izzy, a Piranha Plant, was involved? I noticed the rest of the page has a LOT of articles on these marketing skits that relate to nonMario games. Some skits involve some plushies, such as Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Terry Takeover: Part 2 involving Bowser and Super Star plushies, but they're not central to the videos. At least The Cat Mario Show uses puppets of Mario characters, got some content for Super Mario Maker, and I don't think its episodes got full pages (and it shouldn't). Mario Kart 8 From the Pit is a simiar deal; at least the focus is on Mario Kart but its episodes don't have full pages, and they shouldn't have full pages. MarioWiki might be the site for the now-lost content of Disney Magical World 2 & Its Hidden Wonders... but that's also nothing to do with Mario. Maybe so if we were to ever delete these pages at least we should archive it I guess. The Mario content is already kind of tenuous, just being descriptions of videos available to watch, but I don't think articles like YO-KAI WATCH 2: Bony Spirits & YO-KAI WATCH 2: Fleshy Souls or Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Terry Takeover: Part 1 are justified. I gave these pages for the live-action segments, where there are original skits happening that often don't relate to the games, and when they do, it's often the hosts own version of it, and one of the major characters is a Piranha Plant. I feel like people are confused over the titles of the episodes and assume everything that happens is all about the game. I understand your points on stuff like Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Terry Takeover: Part 1, where Izzy is gone and has to be replaced with other characters, (and there is less unrelated original skits and more Pokémon praising) but there are still skits, and I argue that Frizzy, being the host of Frizzy's Silly amiibo Theater, has enough relevance to the Mario franchise to warrant articles for episodes he has a large role in. I wrote the articles so the reviews are in as little detail as possible to focus on the stuff that doesn't relate to the games, and more-so the host's antics. Rykitu 5:14 PM June 13, 2026

I understand the attempt to make the articles more about the hosts and not about the games they're based off, but there would be a stronger case if they were Mario characters. Izzy is the only one who is, but he's not the main attraction of the show I think. For Frizzy, I feel the stuff he hosts relates to the franchise due to the focus on Mario amiibo, I feel the scope of his character would be limited to just the amiibo Theater and probably wouldn't have much of coverage beyond that he's a character from the Play Nintendo Show. That's a good point. For the upcoming character and item articles, we could only cover information on their appearances in the Mario related episodes. The non-Mario episodes and the subjects that exclusively appear in those can be deleted, even if that means days of work wasted. I don't think I'm quite ready to make these changes yet, but I'll do that work once I have time. Rykitu 6:46 PM June 13, 2026 (UTC)

I'm not too keen erasing efforts either! Is there any way you can salvage your efforts here? Why not include at least a brief summary of each episode in The Play Nintendo Show article as a compromise? Why not expand Izzy's page just to include information you have of him? The original plan for TPNS's expansion was to not give the episodes pages and just have the summaries on the main article, but I decided to give them articles because there was enough unique information in them to justify giving them articles. With this plan realized now, I think my initial plan was better. The Mario related episodes should still be kept, though. I think now I will give quick summaries for the episodes in the table along with other interesting information if there is any as originally intended. This should keep the relevant information in the non-Mario episodes while not overshooting what we give articles. Izzy and Andrew's pages will be full of info once I finish info splitting and the last Frizzy episode. Rykitu 3:19 AM June 14, 2026 (UTC)
