Variants

Stingas[1] are flying insect enemies from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. They attack Donkey Kong by flying towards him if he gets too close; if Donkey Kong comes in contact with them, he loses beats. However, Donkey Kong can defeat them with the Sound Wave Attack. He earns a beat for each Stinga that he defeats. In some levels, there are Stinga Combs[2] that, upon clapping near them, reveal several Stingas.

Stingas appear in several kingdoms throughout the game. An alternate variant of Stinga known as an Armored Stinga also appears in the Durian Kingdom; using the Sound Wave Attack causes them to turn into normal Stingas, which can then be defeated.
