No.48[1] is a robotic enemy encountered in the game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Only one of them appears in the first stage of the Space Zone. No.48 impedes Mario's progress by opening up and throwing explosive stars at him. However, it can be defeated with a simple stomp or a fireball. Due to its behavior of jumping while throwing an arcing projectile, it is comparable to Hammer Bros. According to the Shogakukan guide, it may be from the same homeworld as Tatanga.[1]
