Nintendo Sound Selection Vol.3: B-Side Music is a compilation album exclusive to Club Nintendo members. Like the Healing Music and Loud Music soundtracks before it, the B-Side CD could be obtained from Club Nintendo only by redeeming 400 points. Also, unlike the previous soundtracks, this one does not focus on a particular theme, instead featuring a variety of different types of music.

With over half of the CD containing Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong tunes, the B-Side CD has more Super Mario-related music than any of the previous two volumes in the series. The Mario tracks are from Luigi's Mansion (one track includes Luigi's humming from the game), Super Mario Bros. 2, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, WarioWare: Touched!, Yoshi Touch & Go, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story, Dr. Mario, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Mario Kart 64, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Super Mario Sunshine, and Mario Artist: Talent Studio.
