Fruit Picker is a Challenge minigame that is found in Mario Party 8.

Introduction[edit]

Two Shy Guys appear from opposite sides of the screen and push a large fruit tree-shaped wheel and a platform with a stack of three boxes together. They then walk to the back of the room as the player walks up to the wheel and the three boxes, at which point the minigame starts.

Gameplay[edit]

The player must try to memorize pictures of fruit that appear on five circular panels on the wheel. The five fruits are apples, grapes, bananas, oranges, and cherries, some or all of which may make an appearance. After a short period of time, the wheel spins briefly. When it stops, the five panels flip around, hiding the fruit pictures. At the same time, one to three of the boxes in the stack to the right turn around, revealing one fruit picture per box. The player must then select (in any order) the panels on the wheel that correspond to the fruit pictures shown on the boxes. The different colors appearing in the center of the wheel can be used to help pinpoint the necessary fruits. The player wins if they are able to successfully match the panels on the wheel with the fruit pictures shown on the boxes. If even one wrong fruit is picked, the minigame ends and the player loses. The minigame also ends if the timer runs out.

In order to prevent cheating, if the player pauses the game or presses the HOME Button button while the fruit images are still visible, they are covered up until the player unpauses.

Ending[edit]

If the player wins, they do their victory pose while the crowd cheers. If the player loses, they do their losing pose.
