Pumper Cars is a Duel minigame featured in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best. The name is a pun on "bumper cars."

Introduction[edit]

The camera goes through part of a mine, then it comes to the first player. The screen splits into two to show the second player.

Gameplay[edit]

Players must hold Wii Remote sideways and pump their handcarts all the way to the finish. To operate the levers correctly, the players must shake Wii Remote up and down while holding A Button and One Button. If the player does not hold both buttons, the cart does not move. The first player to reach the goal wins. If neither player reaches the goal within five minutes, the minigame ends in a tie.

Ending[edit]

The screen cuts to the winning player in a different perspective as they stop and face the screen, after which the player does a winning pose and then continues pumping.

Test for the Best[edit]

In Test for the Best, the player plays alone in this minigame and must reach the goal as fast as possible. The times required to earn a certain point total are as follows:

  • Wii Remote: Hold down A ButtonOne Button and move Wii Remote up and down to operate the lever.
  • Buttons: Hold down A ButtonOne Button to operate the lever.
