Blazing Lassos is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8. The name is a pun on the video game Blazing Lazers, and it may also be a reference to the satirical western film, Blazing Saddles.

Introduction[edit]

The first player throws a lasso and yanks back a barrel before the game starts.

Gameplay[edit]

Each player must use a lasso to reel in barrels from the spinning wheel, adding the number marked on them to their score; the numbers are 5, 10, 20, 30, and 50. The player with more points after 20 seconds wins, and the game ends in a tie if their scores are the same.

Ending[edit]

Hammer Bro winning the minigame against Wario

The winner celebrates as the loser sits on the wheel dazed; both characters sulk if a tie occurs.
