Rudder Madness is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 8.

The game is set on a river running through a swamp. The first character is seen from behind, followed by a portion of the course. When the camera goes back, all four players are lined up at the starting line on their lily pads.

The objective is to get to the finish first. To avoid falling behind, players must dodge rocks, poles, and other players on the way. They can turn their lily pads by tilting the Wii Remote, which works as their rudder.

The winner does their victory dance on the riverbank, while the others flow down the swamp and spin in their losing animation. If all of the players manage to reach the finish line at the same time or if five minutes pass, no one will be on the riverbank, and all four players flow down in the swamp and spin in their losing animation as "Tie" appears on the screen.
