The players attempt to collect Coins by controlling the cup in the vending machine within the time limit. The Coins appear when they drop by from the top of the vending machine. There are also [[Spiny Eggs]] that appear falling down from the top of the vending machine. If the player gets the Spiny Egg into the cup, the player's cup will be stunned for a moment as the cup cannot get Coins for a while. The player gets their own Coins alone while the three players get the same amount of Coins as they work together. Additionally, the three players' cups are in the other vending machine as the players try to work as a team to get the Coins. There is no winner because this type of mini-game is a Coin-collecting mini-game.
The solo player has a large basket, and the team players each have a small basket. In addition, the solo player's machine drops coins and [[Spiny Egg]]s at a steady rate, while the team's is more erratic. The players must move their baskets to grab coins and avoid Spiny Eggs. If a player catches a Spiny Egg, they will be unable to catch coins for a short time. There is no winning or losing in this game (unless no coins were caught).

At the end of the mini-game, all the players in the game are happy and attempt to do a winning pose as they received their Coins of their own.
All the players do winning poses (or losing poses if no coins were collected), and the coins they collected are added to their inventory.

Grabbin' Gold is a 1-vs.-3 minigame that is found in Mario Party 8. The minigame consists of getting gold coins.

Introduction[edit]

The minigame starts in an arcade that consists of mostly claw machines with prizes such as Goomba or Koopa Troopa plushies. A Koopa Troopa (in Party Mode) or Mii (in the Free Play Arcade) attempts to get a penguin plushie at one of them. The camera then moves right to the two other machines. The four players arrive at the scene and are excited to play. The solo player takes the machine on the left, and the trio takes the one on the right.

Gameplay[edit]

The solo player has a large basket, and the team players each have a small basket. In addition, the solo player's machine drops coins and Spiny Eggs at a steady rate, while the team's is more erratic. The players must move their baskets to grab coins and avoid Spiny Eggs. If a player catches a Spiny Egg, they will be unable to catch coins for a short time. There is no winning or losing in this game (unless no coins were caught).

Ending[edit]

All the players do winning poses (or losing poses if no coins were collected), and the coins they collected are added to their inventory.
