Witch (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)
The Witch appears as a boss in the world of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins called Pumpkin Zone. The Witch can be found flying in the sky of Pumpkin Zone on her broom. The witch battles out with Mario in her kitchen, where she teleports around the room and casts fire bolts with her wand. Some of these fire bolts fall down under the pots that stands in the middle of her kitchen and boils them so much that the lids on them fly high up in the air. If Mario stands on these pots, they will propel him into the spikes above. He should jump on her head or fire his own fireballs at her. Three jumps or six fireballs will defeat her.
The Witch also appears as a "nothing" icon in the slot machine game of the optional casino area; if it is landed on, she will stick out her tongue, and taunt Mario.
She reappears in the Mario vs. Wario comic. She starts by saying "You won't get away for me, my pretty!" (a reference to The Wizard of Oz) and launches fire balls at Mario. He ducks the flames and they hit a bird, who was in the nearby bush. She then launches her lids at Mario. He then jumps over the lids and lands on them, getting them stuck to his shoes but also allowing him to walk on water. He walks across a lake and "thanks" the witch for her "help".
The Witch has similarities to Keipu, and is depicted as another form of that character in the Kodansha adaptation. The Witch has also appeared in volume 8 of Super Mario-Kun, where she transforms Mario into a pig. She also tries to collide two flying pot lids to harm Mario and his friends. Despite this, with the help of a Boo, Mario uses her wand to transform her into a fish.
