VS. Sumo Kong is the boss level of the Star Fruit Kingdom in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, as well as the seventeenth and penultimate boss level overall. Like Asteroid Belt, it takes place in outer space. However, unlike Asteroid Belt, this area takes place on a comet. This level's objective is to defeat Sumo Kong.
Level layout[edit]
In this level, Ninja Kong has 500 health points. He attacks by performing a series of slaps that Donkey Kong must block. Eventually, Sumo Kong can try to push him. Unlike the previous battles with the previous Kongs, however, Donkey Kong can only dodge Sumo Kong's attacks when the message to do that is shown.
After losing at least two fifths of his health, Sumo Kong will begin the second (and final) phase. Here, his slaps are quicker and stronger. If Donkey Kong deals damage to defeat Sumo Kong, the former will earn one to four crests in the original Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and one to three in the enhanced New Play Control! port for the Wii.
